HEY! Really fun dig today with Alec, Crusty, and Kenny. Frickin tee shirt weather!
I was honored to be in the presence of three fine veterans all day. Your service is very much appreciated, especially this week and happy birthday (241) to Semper Fi today! Hope to see you guys again tomorrow! Kenny, that chunker I plucked from my sluice is definitely Gold. I thought is was too good to be true... but it's true. Crusty and I threw it in a pan when we got back up to the truck and it stuck. Will post pics in the CC Cleanups thread eventually when I run the concentrates from today and tomorrow, it's a beauty though. -------------------- /l ,[____], l---L-OlllllllO- ()_) ()_)--o-)_) BLACK SANDS MATTER! Swizz and I are going to check out this spot tomorrow if anyone wants to join us. not sure how easy the access to the creek will be (after playing frogger across the road), so we may not end up staying here, but we're gonna at least recon it and see if it is worth working.

I've seen people working there before; I'm curious how it looks.

Supposed to be in the 50s tomorrow. Think I'll head up to the canyon and scope out an ice free spot to spend the day!

Just went through the entire thread, trying to recreate my trips for the year for taxes (quickly followed by a New Year resolution to actually document my trips throughout the year instead of doing it this way lol)
Great 2016 @ CC; look forward to 2017!! -------------------- Find Colorado Prospector on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/170314493176558

This was on 12/30, and I can't imagine it's gotten better. A bit too much ice for me, particularly since the gold is across the ice/water.

Doesn't look to inviting Emac. I think I will stay out of the canyon until that ice starts to break up. Looks like Abar for the rest of the winter for me.
