Is there Gold in Ouray, can anyone point me in the right direction Options

We will be heading to Ouray CO. at the end of July. I wanted to try my hand at finding some gold. My wife and I live in Dallas Texas and there is nothing to do around here unless you travel 1000 miles. We have spent the last 4 years traveling to Ouray for our vacation and usually renting jeeps and doing the old mine trails and passes. this time I bought a tesoro lobo and some tools. Is there a good place that has nuggets to be found. I was thinking the camp bird . imogene area in the gulches. Is that a good idea?? or maybe the gulches neer old hundred mine by eureka. All I really have to go on is google earth and were only there three days.

Welcome to the CP forums, make yourself right at home browsing the entire website.
There should be some places to prospect in the Ouray area, just be sure you aren't on a patented piece of land or a location claim.
I'm not in that specific area so I don't have any details sorry but maybe someone closer will chime in soon.
