I'll make sure to have my small game hunting tag when I go over to visit....

You have to find us first Coalbunny.......
Not to mention that it is illegal to hunt in a residential are. Has been really cold here so when I go out to give them seed in the morning, they act like they haven't eaten in forever. Did a little test to be able to count them better.....Rowed out 20 little piles of seed, then placed the seed in a way that I could count better. Counted over 43 so the number is growing. I know I have this pic in here already, but I'm adding it again since this is the way they look lately when I go out to feed them. Pic of hoar frosted bunnies.... -------------------- Education is the key to the future,

Well that figures Colin! At this point I think they have tunnels under the home but we need to find out. There is one spot left to get them away from the house. Once we secure the only entrance, were going to open up a past popular hole into the fenced yard. That way we can still let them all out but not back in. That's my plan and I'm sticking to it. Just have to make sure to check yard before letting the dog and cat out.
Very generous offer from you Colin...The bunnies would love that. We have several uncut up Aspen logs that they nibble on for the bark all winter and they seem to love it. -------------------- Education is the key to the future,

Just have to make sure to check yard before letting the dog and cat out. Well we put fencing up against the trailer end of the house, and opened up the opening into the yard. Actually went smoother than we first thought. We prepared the day before to close the only hole up, then the next morning I flushed them all out with a tempting big cup of seed in their feeding area while Dan closed up the outer hole. No signs (of thumping heads on the floorboards) of any under the house still so I closed up the yard hole....not even one fell behind when it came to seed. Sad news for them is they are pretty bummed and are trying to dig back in through the fencing where the hole was that Dan covered......not working though. Even with all these looks from them...... We would tell them all the time it was going to happen so they knew it was coming.
But now I feel bad since it has been snowing since we closed the hole. Going around the house looking for signs of them digging, nothing other than dig marks in the snow on the rock over the fencing he laid over the existing hole. Makes me feel like a big bunny bully. -------------------- Education is the key to the future,

These things are more stubborn than the cat! They (two culprits) found the one and only spot outside the fenced yard to get back under the house. Dug right under the 55 gallon barrel of water, then slipped under the house.
Did the same thing....teased them with a cup of seed, then closed up that hole after they came out to eat. NOW, I think we have the bunnies out from under the house. -------------------- Education is the key to the future,

It worked!! They tested it out (for several days) only to find no way in.
Here is a picture of where they snuck under the water barrel....now closed off! They got over it just fine as you can see. -------------------- Education is the key to the future,

Fencing has been working great. Was good timing on racing the bunnies out from under the house too. Here are some pictures of a sweet busy mom getting her den ready for the babies in a spot in the wood pile. She has been working hard at it for days now. Guess that makes it officially spring in their eyes. She is pretty tolerant of me watching her but I don't push my luck too much.
First pic is of her with a mouth full ready to add to the den... A little closer to see what she's up to.... Nice looking spot she has going! -------------------- Education is the key to the future,

Been over a month since I could give them any seed, so most of them just went away.
Just goes to show that If you don't give something that that they want, they go away. Figures!! -------------------- Education is the key to the future,
