The outing was fun and we even found some nice gold. BBQ brisket was very good. If you're not a member you should be or you will miss the next one. Who knows we might even go back
for Labor Day. Access to river was easy and gold was good on gravel bar. C'ya on the mountain |

Thanks Jack,
Yep, now is the time to join up if you aren't already......Ya' don't want to miss the next one! Everyone had a great time and the weather was awesome! Here are a few pics of the events during the weekend, for all the details and more pics check out the news and events pages. We had a great field trip up the canyon to take a couple test buckets. Wow! what a beautiful area with some mining history. After taking some test buckets the guys wanted to run the samples through the gold buddy.......and the youngest club member attending was in to help. Quite certain he know's exactly how this works........see do it like this he shows us all. We also had a very nice spot for a sluicing demonstration for those who wanted to get some tips. Yep, found some gold there too!! Nice spot to follow up with a combo unit.......check out the killer curve in the background! Ok, for the rest ya' gotta' click the link above....... Cya'll out there next time! CP -------------------- CP-Owner/Administrator

It was great to meet new people and explore a new area. The spot where the demonstrations were held has lots of possibilities, especially after the proper research. Here is a closer look at the bend to the right........actually, there is a bend to the left also.
I know if we go back, the 3 inch combo unit is coming! Then you will definately see Dan with a shovel......... just not mine. If you ever wanted to try a combo unit (dredge/highbanker) out or see one in action, then this will be a good time. As we do on all outings, there will also be discussions on properly researching how to find open public land to prospect on. Here are few pictures of some of the amazing material nmjack gave us at the outing to work.
Materials included Thundereggs, Fire Agate, Turquoise, Ruby matrix, Emerald matrix...etc..... We are going to send him back some finished pieces for his kind generosity. I even found a great piece of Fire Agate filled with flash that will sculpt into a cool piece. Thanks nmjack, we will bring out their beauty best we can. This first picture is of the Fire Agate. The piece Im holding is from New Mexico. This second picture is of the Turquoise. -------------------- Education is the key to the future,
