Into a sweet dredge/trommel. At my disposal I have a dryer that doesn't blow hot air, a Bissell vacuum and a honda car and boat. Aside from the vacuum, everything has been ditched at my house by previous renters and friends. (Thanks for the crap guys) I can't scrap the car because it was abandoned and tow companies won't touch it since it's titleless and the landlord is out of state. They did give me permission to do whatever I want with it.
The boat is decrepit, the trihull has stress cracks and a leak. It almost made a home in chatfield res. The last time it went out. The bilge is broken but the Volvo motor is still good. The vacuum works but the beater bar went out. SO! I have an idea to build a dredge to a trommel to a sluice. Problem being that I'm clueless when it comes down to welding and electrical work. Any Ideas on this? ? Would this even be viable? |

I think we've all had similar if not the same ideas about pieces laying around to make up a new one. But in this case I would suggest scrapping the car yourself unless it's usable. If it is a car that can be fixed and driven, the lack of title can be fixed legally. If the car is kaput then just get a tow dolly and tug it down to Commerece city salvage, they'll give you a certain daily price per ton for scrapers.
Then sell off the boat as is (junk boat) but with a good motor and trailer? Those three items should raise a few hundred bucks depending on sell prices each...maybe even more. Toss the dryer or give away......even though the tub for trommel idea isn't bad, you'd find that once assembled and running, that poor tub would be way too light duty to "fluff" rocks all day.......it's made to "fluff" fabric. Just not quite heavy duty enough to handle rocks. Same with the vacuum, assuming it runs on 120v AC it won't be of any help for field orientated equipment projects. After you sell/tow off the scrap take all those funds and start a new project or buy new parts to make what's wanted. Just my as an old scrapper from the junk yard. Let me know if you want to titte the heap o' Honda , I'd be happy to give some tips on getting that done if you wanted. -------------------- CP-Owner/Administrator
