I'm pretty sure this is wrong seeing as though I didn't take the time to do more than just guess...
Obsidian Thats too easy so it must be wrong...dangit Denise...now I'm gonna end up surfin the sites again until I find it!! I just wanted to throw that obsidian at ya because if it took me 3 days to find out it WAS obsidian I woulda been mad because it was my first guess!! take care... Here's an official guess: (okay make it 2)
a boytriodial red jadeite, or perhaps a boytriodial jasper or jasp agate. It does not appear to be conchoidal from the one view we have here, which is how a guess of obsidian is ruled out. If I'm correct and we don't know that yet, it has been found in specific boulders along the california beaches near a town that sounds something like Humbolt or Humble or something close.
