Cool finds Digger, where did the purple one come from and how big is it?
I'm gonna guess that is an Amethyst crystal. If you like crystals and agates you may want to check out the "agate adventure 2006" thread ......we found some pretty cool calcite flowers on fire agate down near Palo Verde California. Pics will be posted soon along with more of the Az. petrified wood, and Bloody Basin agate samples we collected. Thanks for sharing the pics Digger and welcome to the CP forums. Yes, cp you are right, it a amethyst elestial its from my claim on Petersen Peak NV.
it weighs 2 1/2 pounds an is 6 in.x 3 in.x 3 in. the small smoky with inclusions was dug about 5 feet below the surface. it comes out of a pegmatite in central nevada i dug through about 3 feet of granite before hitting the pocket. i belive that the inclusion is actinolite or epidote not sure but is is green for sure i will try to get a better photo showing the color so you can see. :)

Very cool finds everyone! Neat thread of pics going here!
Here is one I found this morning in a dry pan of cons........big garnet caught my eye.......then looked again and found this. Sorry about the fuzzy pic but it's very small and hard to photograph........ Size is approx. 3mm across the widest point...or less. Stayed in the box while we dredged and then it hung in the micro sluice! What do you think? Amonite micro? CP

Here are some of our finds that just got all cleaned up.
Goethite on the left in the white area, and Amazonite with Clevelandite and a small purple fluorite on the left side of it, (lower piece on the right)and Amazonite with Clevelandite (upper piece in on the right).
