I've been talking to Geno. He hasn't came out and said it but what he needs the most is money. He told me that the gas stations and the stores are coming back on line. That doesn't help much though if you have no money and he hasn't been able to work so there is no money coming in. I'd suggest that you take the money that you would spend to send him something and just put it in an envelope, a check, as the banks are open again. He hasn't receved anything as of the 17th. The mail and UPS, FEDEX are supposed to be working. If you can't send any money, I can certainly understand it, send him a card or letter with a note. He'll love to get that also.

Hey everyone,
I just talked with Geno for a bit on the phone this morning. He is doing okay and starting to get things cleaned up, but it will be a long slow process. Geno did even laugh just a little on the phone. Sure was good to hear his voice again though. He didn't say he needed anything else when I asked but I'm betting he can still use some help as the entire area around him is devastated. His house did loose the walls of the computer room and the front screen room peeled right off the house, but he said the rest held up pretty well. The phone went dead on us so that is about all I got this morning. If you still can help then please please do. Message from Geno to you all......... "THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH, WHAT WAS SENT HAS BEEN A GOD SEND" I'm sure he will be back on line as soon as he can. Crazy dude even took pics during the storm..... :D :o Going to be interesting to see those later. Thank you everyone. CP -------------------- CP-Owner/Administrator

well im glade gene is coming out of this and atleast laughing! thats a good sign! but remember there are still friends out there that also need some temporary assistance! some of these people are your friends, and they arent going to say that they need help. you know who they are! sometimes just a phone call, a card, or send them something they are in need of. food, cash, even a "T" handled hose clamp might put a smile on your buds face! remember to lookout for your friends! it may be your time next!

Donation sent via Paypal. Been through several hurricanes myself when we
lived in Virginia, hurricane Hazel and Donna come to mind in the 50's and 60's. Fortunately we didn't experience the devastation like Florida. -------------------- Pick&Shovel

I sent Geno a new "SD card" for his camera. He said his other one was full and couldn't download to the computer with no power. Hopefully it will fit his camera. If so, when he gets back on line, we should have plenty of pictures.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!... Your help has been a godsend and I'm not sure how we would have managed without your help... obviously, I'm back online now and power was restored to my area about 30 minutes ago.. Electricity is also now hooked up at the shop where I work, so I 'll be back to the old grind tomorrow... still lots of work to do around here, but that is going to have to wait.
Now that wer have electricity, I just can't wait to get a hot shower... 9 days of cold showers is enough for anyone... Thanks again for all your help and prayers.... I'll be back soon. geno |

Dan, I tried to call you back at the number you called me from, but the call won't go thru....
Our Family really appreciates all you've done for us and can never repay the help, prayers and thoughtfulness that everyone has shown. THE shop opened back up today and I got in a full days work.... now that the funds are flowing again I don't feel that any more assistance is needed. Please, if anyone was still planning on sending further asistance, We would appreciate your donating the goods to your local food bank or emergency shelter. I will be donating any leftover food and survival materials to our local food bank and Church. I have kept a very close track of the cash donations and will repay those dollars in whatever way the forum members who donated feel would be the best use. I can either make the donations to PLP. MRT, DEF or other groups in our fight for rights, or I can make donations to the Salvation Army (who was first on the scene) and the Red Cross. Private message or email me your preferences... No one can truly appreciate the difference in our lives that your donations have made. We can never thank you enough for everything... All we can do is to pass along to others that which was given to us. Rest assured that all is well here and it was thru your help and prayers that we came thru in such good shape. Many others are still hurting and will be for some time so Keep it up with your prayers and Ill handle the donations of goods to them on this end.. God Bless You All... I hope to meet you on the creek and share a campfire... geno |
