Hello Prospectors,
My name is Travis and I wanted to make a introduction, I have been cruising this forum for awhile and have decided to join your community, if you will have me. I am a Geologist by trade and have worked in the mining industry for three years now. I have a unusual obsession with rocks and mining and love to go prospecting, rock-hounding and exploring abandoned mines in my spare time. I hope to get to know some of you and do my best to be a contributing member to this awesome community. Good luck on your prospects! |

Thank you all, appreciate the warm welcome.
Have already learned alot on these forums, there is a vast wealth of knowledge on here. For example, didnt know there was labradorite to be found around Gunnison, definitely going to check that out. Just wish summer was starting and not winter right now. The snow just covers up all the good stuff IMO but that wont stop me from getting out on the nice sunny days. |

Nice to have another western sloper here! I'm in the Gunnison area and I'm usually after the golden bits when I can get out, although any cool rocks come home that I can carry. Gold seems to consume me more than other minerals do for some reason. It must be the magical properties. You can't let a little winter time stop you around here.
The action all seems to be on clear creek these days! I'm not a club member but this site is very active and these guys are legit. -------------------- Level 2 member -12/25/16
