Just thought it was time for some discussion here.... I’m going to try to explain what the Miners Response Team is trying to accomplish.
Redpaw, QJ, Correct me if I mis speak or say something that isn’t true, but this is how I see the situation. The MRT is a culmination of information offered to you the United States citizen, for free. Specializing of course in land use rights......Y/OURS! Now we do talk lots of mining, but that is our interest and choice of activity. The fact that’s really important is still being glazed over for the most part.... This all concerns everyones rights, not just miners! Anyone who (may some day or does now) enjoy stepping off into Y/OUR national lands for whatever activity. Today it’s still okay to take the family camping and collect a few specimens (rock, plant, or mineral) for your personal study and use...... OR IS IT?! Stop by the Miners Response Team website and look around, you’ll be glad you did. We invite and welcome your comments and input here in the MRT forum about the website or the content you read there. About now you’re saying “well how is the MRT going to help me?” The answer is very simple…. It’s an educational tool…..that’s it! But when you the citizen make the decision to take part somehow, someway.......Then you have a tremendously wealthy source of information at your disposal. If you’ve ever tried to research through government websites then you know full well it can eat up a sh*t load of time. If you have never done this then you need this information and access to it even worse. The MRT webmaster has presented information pertinent to land use rights on both the federal and the state levels, private and public. It’s easy to navigate and even has a few descriptive editorials here and there.... ![]() Now! You the citizen must ask yourself........Does it matter to me? YES? Then you have just told yourself to take part!! How can you help “the effort”? That is an excellent question, and we would like you to tell us. We know everyone doesn’t choose to participate in the same way that we do, but tell us what YOU CAN DO. Is the MRT going to appear in court for anyone? Only as participants or witnesses. We have no lawyer funds to take on court proceedings for anyone. The information is it....and it’s up to YOU the citizen to utilize it. Can you think of a few people who might be interested in their right to access national lands? Spread the word........that’s a start. If you can get a few more fresh faces in the forums and reading the MRT site then that is a huge first step and a tremendous help to the effort. Maybe a local shop in your area would be interested........ie bicyclist, backpacking, hunting, fishing..... :) Print out something from the website and post it there….and make sure the web addy is on it also...... :) The idea here is.......the more that learn the facts the more our numbers will grow. We aren’t trying to present anything other than the facts. The fact is some agencies are over stepping their delegated authority by leaps and bounds, and it’s the citizens rights that are being over stepped. This is happening at the federal, state, and local levels. I’ve heard it said many times that “the states have the authority to regulate more restrictively” ...... This is true, but........ THEY DO NOT HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO VIOLATE Y/OUR STATUTORY RIGHTS AS CITIZENS! I’ve looked through many documents and never have I found one that gives authority to any agency to violate your statutory rights! If you can find it we would love to see it! Now that being said...... The federal level is what all others are based upon and must conform too. From that point other “deligated” agencies have “authority" to regulate.....NOT VIOLATE! And once we the citizens learn the “rules” that these agencies must conform too, then we the citizens can pluck off their bullsh*t rules one by one. The house of cards will fall! Go check it out and then come back and give us your thoughts. COLORADOPROSPECTOR.COM PROUDLY STANDS WITH THE MINERS RESPONSE TEAM! If you can help in your own way.......then please do. If you are already ...... THANK YOU! And keep up the good work! Redpaw, QJ.......You two have put tremendous efforts into this, along with several others...... FINE EXAMPLES OF LEADERS! THANK YOU!! Hey all,
C.P. Dan really hit the nail on the head! The MRT was formed to help out miners and other groups that access the PUBLIC LANDS. It really doesn't matter which activity you get involved in, dirt biking, camping, hunting, metal detecting, four-wheeling, hang gliding, fishing, etc. the regulators want to micro manage you and your access to OUR LAND! The MRT naturally keys in on mining issues but one of our biggest fights was for continuing public access to the Oregon Beaches. We dont do much mining there but it was the right thing to do! We naturally hope the ATV , 4x4 , and kite flying crowd will remember us when we need a little support, but even if we get forgotten, it was a just battle! I guess the real question as we proceed into the new millenium is, has the age of FREEDOM PASSED in the Land of the Free? Please help us to exert the pressure necessary to ensure the answer is NO, Freedom Still Abounds in the Land of the Free! QJ ;) -------------------- |

![]() ![]() ![]() I ain't do for a trim for another 6 months or so Geno... :P :D QJ makes a good point above also...."exert the pressure necessary" Pressure being the fact that you the citizen have the knowledge and confidence to say "No Sir/Maam I believe your wrong, the regulations state...." when needed, on paper or in person. We the people can call em out on it everytime they are crossing the foul line at every office we visit or comment too. B) :P :D That adds up to be some pressure. :D CP -------------------- CP-Owner/Administrator
