Mineral specimen lot #1
(Seasonal Drawing 9/22/16 treasure picked by Renee in Missouri ) A beautifully white and sparkly clean microcline/albite in combination with smokey quartz crystals all around (shown center right in picture) is the show piece of this lot. Size of the show piece is a miniature at just under 2.5" and is a micromount delight! Also included for this lot, another smokey quartz crystal that at first glance appears to be broken which it was.....but mother nature has tried to fix the broken end over time and the broken end now has been "mended" naturally with many small terminations. The other pieces are, geothite (micromount), a nice pale amazonite crystal with good form, a pseudomorph hematite after siderite (awesome sheen and form), and another light tan colored microcline/albite formation with awesome shape and sheen too! ![]() ___________________________________________________________________ -------------------- CP-Owner/Administrator

Ok this one will appeal to the faceters out there we think.
Chosen for fall 11' seasonal drawing 1st place prize - Doug in Colorado 1/02/12 Rough Smokey Quartz crysttals for faceting - Approximately 124 grams + From the world famous Dreamtime Mine in Colorado. All mined by myself and Mrs.CP and hand picked by us for clarity. A nice range of colors from light to darks. We estimate that a 50% loss or so will be encountered through finishing. So hopefully you will end up with somewhere around 60 grams or 300 cts of clean workable material. We are not faceters ourselves but we have screened these to be some without a "milky" center. We can see very nice transparency in some or most of each piece. Piece sizes range from largest at right center 1.75" x .75" down to .5" for smallest length. ![]()

Thought this would be a cool one for someone who wants to cut their own thundereggs and get that first look for themselves.
6 Oregon t-egg doublets. I've marked them for the orientation I would cut them but you cut them how ya' like. We've been cutting up some of these recently and our ratio for good ones is outstanding! Better than half are just awesome.....probably close to 75% good ones. So you can expect at least 4 killer little doublers! ![]() Have fun cutting and polishing these little guys.....all are about 2 inch x 2.5 inch or so. We want to see the finished pictures in the forum too! ![]() ![]() Chosen for winter 13' seasonal drawing prize - Tony in Michigan 3/20/14 ![]() -------------------- CP-Owner/Administrator
