Hello,

I'm a fairly new rock hound, and I was wondering if someone could tell me the best way to clean peridot? I have several small pieces I picked up, that would be really pretty if they didn't have brownish stains on them. I've used super iron out on my aquas, smokies, and amethyst, but I want sure if it would hurt the peridot. Anyone tried it before? Or should I try vinegar first?

Hi sparklerocks, welcome to the forums! sign0016.gif

I would guess vinegar and then iron out if necessary. As far as I know olivine/peridot does not have adverse reaction. Let us know how it works!
