Hi All! My wife and I just moved to Fort Garland in the San Luis Valley. We enjoyed rockhounding back east in North Carolina and Tennessee. Are there are good rockhounding locations in or around the San Luis Valley? We enjoy all gems and minerals.
Thanks! Scott |

Hi Scott,
Welcome to Colorado and the CP website. You will have great adventures just about everywhere in the state. Rich and Johnny both gave some great starting places for you not to far of a distance. I was also recently reading about some reported turquoise in the same area Johnny was describing too......keep your eyes open when you get out there for sure. We also have a 4th of July club members outing coming up in the San Luis Valley area. Details for that can be found in the club members protected section. Have a great time out prospecting, hope to see ya'll out there. CP -------------------- CP-Owner/Administrator
