We couldnt take it...We had to get out.
So we packed up the truck and off we went.

Here are a few pictures of the day.
Enjoy!

This first picture is what it looked like when we arrived.
Tempature was 52 in the sun. Water temp was 31, and we were at 10,500 feet. wacko.gif

But I was ready.

It was a fantastic day spent with the family.

The spot is just about deep enough for some under water work now.

Winter dredging tip.....When you get out, move fast or you will freeze up. ph34r.gif laugh.gif

Temp was 21 by the time we were packing up to leave.
We may go back out tomorrow, but its suppose to snow. dry.gif

What??? Are You Guys NUTS???? Yeah, ME TOO!.. I sincerely wish I could be there and go out with you, but that ain't gonna happen any time soon. I really hope that I can be there for a short time this coming summer. It will all depend on my physical condition at the time. \

I begin another round of chemo this week...today, lab work... then Tuesday thru thursday the actual chemo.

Thanks for the great pics CPx2

Hello Everyone,
Fantastic Pics but I'm a little concerned about the use of Denise as a thermometer to test the BBBBBBBBbbbrrrrrrrr effect of the water LOL. Surely you must realise that once Denise has been "let-off the leash" she isn't going to quit until she catches Double-Pneumonia, Hyperthermia and Iciclitis of the Hair HEHEHE --- I notice Dan managed to get only his ankles wet --- whatever happened to equality of the sexes LOL --- nice Posts Guys and Heroic Gal,
Kind Regards,
Michael Thornberry.
NB:- A Very Special Hello to Geno --- nice to see you buddy --- keep getting better.

Thanks everyone.....we are glad you liked the pics. Hopefully we can put up a short vid I shot a bit later today.

Ummmmm leash Mt?! ohmy.gif laugh.gif
NO NO NO.....Any "REAL MAN" needs no leashes and lets his wife have the nozzle first while the gloves and such are warm and dry happy.gif ........then I took over once she had worked for awhile....... biggrin.gif
I can't help that she is a nozzle hog! dry.gif

Was really beautiful out and other than the temps outside being cold, the water seemed about normal.... tongue.gif laugh.gif

I'll try to get that little video up soon.

HA!! And the folks in the Polar Bear Club that jump into chilly water down in the flatlands think they're tuff. Nothin compared to what a prospector will do for a little color or just a pleasant day up in the hills. Good one guys, great pics! Mike

Priceless moments like that is what its all about! happy.gif
Most of the time we spent there was for snow and ice removal.
The ice was about 2- 2 1/2" thick. Not bad for this time of year though.

Im going to go back with Dan soon so we can really get into it.
(down under with air)
Kids are going to stay warm and dry at home.
They thought that sounded good.....hehe

Im looking forward to it Leonard!!
Its been too long since we have been able to meet up with you.

I found out I can't go this weekend. It looks like the weather will be crappy anyway. We went slucing last year oon the 23rd. If the weather cooperates, maybe we can go dredging this year. I'm open as far as to where.

Had a dry pan of the cons from the winter dredging sitting in the sunshine......nice garnet catches the eye.......but then you look closely and find this.

Well, well, well, what do have here?
huh.gif
High altitude dredging for gold and this shows up in the pan too! cool.gif

Any ideas on what it is?
Must be kinda heavy! tongue.gif

Oh, and size is 3mm or less at the widest piont. Very small!

Dont be jealous Duck, just get out there. cool.gif
Sounds like the new dredge is coming along well!

Here is a pic of CP longarming.
Everytime we go there, the creek water level has dropped during winter.
With the spring thaw coming, our hole is going to be really nice.
smile.gif

All this winter work we have done will sure pay off when the water lever is higher.

OK.... So we may just be a lil' nuts! laugh.gif laugh.gif

But....In fact we had a purpose other than just early work. ohmy.gif

These "exploratory tests" have been very helpful in testing this spot of the creek.
The following pics will show what I mean.

Here is the first one......pic is of the work done last week (pic of me above).

Now, this pic is of the previous gold with the other gold found during the "winter tests"......Notice anything different?

Even though we are only talking about maybe 20' of creek.....it really pays to read the flow and anticipate the deposits! biggrin.gif

Think I know where we will be working next time! cool.gif happy.gif

And by the time the spring melt levels off.....this will be one sweet hole! biggrin.gif

Here's a short video if ya' like..... (1min) smile.gif
MrsCP is doing some testing both of the ground and drysuit dryness.....but I think the drysuit failed! ohmy.gif tongue.gif

Temps have been way too cold to run the pump so far this year to dredge...... sad.gif
Most of the time its below 20 and thats not to mention the wind chill.
Tempatures need to be at least above freezing with lots of sunshine. biggrin.gif

Careful running your equipment in these cold tempatures, and always dress for the weather. We were using dry suits/waiders and thick gloves to work in the water.
