Welcome to Mark!
Mark is one of our newest members who we met at Vic's Gold Panning. We are glad you could make it up with your friend Bill. Great workers, both of you.... ;). We sure put a dent in that old trommel ramp. :P The piece we kept out of the cons looks real nice after taking Bills suggestion to clean it up a bit. (Thanks Bill.) :) I will let the Mrs. post a pic of it later. Had a great time out there, let us know as soon as you can make it back this way. Hope you have a great day! -------------------- CP-Owner/Administrator

It was a fun day- sure didn't make it home by dark, didn't even make it out of the canyon by dark. Bill is chomping at the bit to see inside that magnetic separater so if I get half a chance and the weather stays halfway decent we'll be back soon. Cleaned out my sluice- haven't cleaned it up but looked at it. At the tail was countless dust so fine it looked like floured merc but was gold, and the head part of moss had 5 flakes and alot more dust. Jesse told me ya need riffles for that area but I didn't see anything that my expanded wouldn't catch. Thanks again for the trip it was a nice change of pace- now I'm going to have to build me a highbanker haha. Mark

Mark,
It was great meeting you and Bill. I think there was gold in the lower sluice because we didn't have enough water pressure, and the punch plate was having trouble staying clean. <_< At least you had the extra sluice handy, or the gold might have slipped by ;) We need to buy a new hose to reach the ramp. I think that one has seen its days. If you do build a highbanker, I hope to see a picture of it. :P Maybe next time, I'll be able to spend more time playing in the dirt. -------------------- Education is the key to the future,

Hey Mark,
Glad you had a good time, just let me know when you can make it back. Long as it isn't the first two weeks of November, headed to Duisenberg. B) There is a bunch of flour stuff there. Good thing you put your box underneath....dang old busted hose! So how big is the new highbanker going to be? :D -------------------- CP-Owner/Administrator

OOPS, forgot to get this pic done and in here like i said. <_<
so here is a pic of some of the gold from the reclamation of the trommel ramp. The big one on the bottom is the one I kept from the day you and Bill were up. :D Now lets see what you had when you went home. ;) Sorry I didn't get this one in earlier but it's here now. :P -------------------- CP-Owner/Administrator

I did mention the trip to Ca. above, so here is a pick of the gold from the Duisenburg outing.
Gat and I had a really good time and met lots of very nice folks, including Mike (MTPan) who went over and visited Gat's cousin's claim near the outing with us. What a blast! Least it was till it started raining. That put a damper on the drywashing but we had a successful test run for dusty the dualstage dry washer. :D -------------------- CP-Owner/Administrator

Mark,
Sounds like you need to bring the cons in the house. Im surprised that little nugget survived the gold test you guys gave it It takes a beating and keeps on shining! I never had a doubt that it was gold. The weather was great today, in the 50's. :P The waters is still flowing, but very cold, why you ready to dig? Got a dry suit? ;) -------------------- Education is the key to the future,

Denise, Lucky you stepped in- the next step in the test utilizes a sledge hammer and an anvil. That lil nugget would have looked like a penny off the RR tracks lol. Mark
