Hello all....
the
I am new here but not to gold panning, sluicing, dredging, highbanking (and yes I am woman, hear me roar..haha with a sense of humor none the less), and we both rockhound in our third year of really getting after it, after casual rock hunting. We enjoy the outdoors and the fun that comes along with being a prospector of both gold, silver, metals and rockhounding.

If you decide to come to Grand Junction, please, be sure to consult the LR2000, or BLM as my hubs is one of the owners of placers claim near Gateway. There are several claims that are there and are club claims (Grand Valley Gold Prospectors Club, Colorado Springs Club) and some private claims. Be sure you aren't on a claim without permission of the owners or the private claim owners. There have been some problems with trespassers and there are now cameras set up by BLM as the trespassers were destroying BLM property. Its patrolled pretty regularly by the County Sheriff and the BLM officers as well as CSP (Colorado State Parks).

I forgot to add to be sure that you check to see what is protected as some are being prosecuted for taking items that are protected from a protected area. Please use all your resources to find out what is private, claimed or protected.

Just thought I would let you all know ... Take care and may your pans be filled with gold, silver, rocks, minerals or gemstones !!!! thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

I'm in Florida and my son and his family are in Parachute, CO. Any chance we can work some kind of deal for me to take the grandkids panning/sluicing? They enjoyed panning the paydirt I had delivered to them last summer. I went out there and gave them a lesson. Funniest thing was the oldest after 2 or 3 days realized it was real gold in that dirt. You can email me. No hard feelings if you prefer not to allow anyone on the claim.
