My names Frank. My wife Stacy and I are rock hounds we found this at some point in wyoming years back. It's very hard scratches glass, Wyoming jade (nephrite) test tile I can't scratch it with anything I have. As seen with natural sunlight camera picks up that gleam its bout 3/8 of an inch. I can't get a good pic I show clarity but it's fairly clear. We live in San Luis valley in southern Colorado and have a lot of rock we could use help to identify if any ones in the area or has an idea of where to take them. Most of our collection is from Wyoming Colorado and New Mexico thank you.

Could be quartz. Could also be diamond or one of the other precious gems. Have you done a specific gravity test? Also, I'd love to see your rocks sometime though no guarantee on identification help. I'm in the San Luis at least once a month for work.

Take it to a jeweler. They can rule in or out diamond, very quickly.
