Has anyone been down to CC lately? Just wondering if the water flow has gone down from what it was last month. Wanted to take the kids sluicing but not if it's too dangerous.

CC here in Denver has started dropping. It is surely lower than last month. thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Arapahoe Bar would probably be your best bet on Clear Creek. Cant get over to the north bank with kiddos, but there are some good spots with calmer waters from the south edge. Of course, dont dig out of the water on the south side or up into the banks (not legal). You may be better off going to big bend if your kids are younger. Mine are 2 and 6 and I wouldnt take them to A-Bar yet.

I was up in the canyon yesterday, and it's still moving at a good clip. 600 cubic feet per second. I had a hard time even finding a place to set a sluice.

I drove through the canyon today and it's still rippin. Saw a few guys with wetsuits operating a large floating dredge about 3/4 way up the canyon.

Thanks guys. I did drive up early in the morning yesterday to check it out before I woke them up. Was moving pretty good still so we didn't go. Can't wait to get some good gravel here in the fall with all the melt and construction. Will be sticking to gems and minerals for another month.

Water flow at Golden is down to 135 today (100 is about as heavy a flow I'll cross in) getting. Close!
