So my little sister is going to get married in about 2 months in Seattle, and I've got a crazy idea that just might be perfect if I can get it all together in time!

The idea does require a little explaining; first off my sister's husband (technically their already married) is in the Navy, and both are fairly religious Christians. Anyways the idea is I want to make a His & Hers set of silver cross pendants, both with an aquamarine set in the center, and then engraved with their names & the date of their wedding on the back. Aquamarine, historically has been believed to protect sailors while at sea, so many sailors in days past kept an Aquamarine on their person. BUT!!! I want to make it entirely myself with Colorado Silver & Aquamarines I mine myself if possible. So, I'm wondering if there is anyone in the club with a silver mine claim with fairly high grade silver ore, that might allow me to gather enough silver ore to refine it and make the pendants. Also I'm wondering if there is anyone in the club with an Aquamarine claim that I might be able to work out a deal with to allow me to mine for a couple small specimens for the pendants. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Great idea... but I don't think we've got folks actively mining either. But maybe someone will chime in. Good luck!

Aquamarine is at the top of my list for minerals to find this season but I have not found one yet.

I love the gift idea. It may be very difficult to pull off in a 2 month time frame. If you are willing to set aside the mining yourself part then you may look into local silversmiths to find someone who has local aquamarine and local silver who may be able to help your idea come to life. thumbsupsmileyanim.gif
