BLM sent out this notice so thought I'd post it up here since many folks like to use these specific areas during their travels around Colorado.

This temporary closure includes the Browns canyon national monument, Ruby Mt parking area and the Fourmile trailhead as follows......

QUOTE
BLM will be temporarily closing the BLM parking lot at Ruby Mountain to improve the parking area and fix some drainage issues that became apparent during the fall 2015 flash flood April 1-30, 2017. BLM staff apologize for any inconvenience during these temporary improvements.

There will be heavy equipment operating in the period and the closure will impact visitors for the month-long period but will be ready for peak visitor season. For public safety, visitors will not be able to access and park in the current parking area trailhead adjacent to AHRA Ruby campground and Fourmile trails or hike up or down from the Catkin Gulch drainage that empties into this Browns Canyon National Monument access. Browns visitors be not be able to access from FS 300 from the north during this period.

This temporary closure will impact Chaffee County residents and visitors for a short period but will result in improved parking for monument visitors, Fourmile trail users, and handicapped drivers.

BLM includes the plans here as well to share with the public who visit the Browns Canyon and Fourmile. Chaffee County 300 remains open.
