Does a paid membership allow a person to go to the claims and dig anytime, or is it just during a club event? I wasn't clear on this.
johnnybravo300
And how many times a year do yall get together to dig?
swizz
The club doesn't own any claims or offer claim access as a benefit of membership.
However.... club members such as myself and Mike & Dave are kind enough to allow CP members on our claims by way of club invites or events. As claim owners we donate these privileges to paying club members as a thank-you to the club and what it stands for.
My situation is: Anyone who is a CP Lifetime Member may have unlimited access to my claims. I occasionally hold CP Club Outings at my claims and invite Annual CP Members as well, but Lifers have full reign at my place. Everyone may keep what they find. I do not invite non-CP Club Members.
All of the claims Outings and invites are posted in the protected forum section.

Mike & Dave do a few and I usually invite CP Annual Members for an Outing on 4th of July and Labor Day week/weekends.
We get together a lot outside of the claims for Gold/mineral/fossil gettin' also. Crusty, self, and a couple others will probably be on CC this Fri & Sat working for cold Gold. I've made some great friends (and finds!) through this club!

Thanks for the info Swizz.

Holding no claims may sound strange at first to many, but then they quickly realize that is actually the best news of all! smiley-cool14.gif

I would be happy to have you as a fellow Club Member Johnny!
One of the things that sold me on this club is that instead of holding claims to sell memberships the focus is on how to do it yourself and be independent with your prospecting. Other clubs may have a claim or two to go to but what if you want to prospect somewhere else? Are they going to help you do that properly? These were serious questions for me. If they are serious questions for you then you are in the right place!

And how many times a year do yall get together to dig?

I invited Club Members with me on a few trips recently to SE Colorado(Calcite,Marcasite,Barite,Selenite and fossils). The area is left open on my invite for Club Members to go to whenever they wish(with a little follow up research before you go).

I am working on research now for mineral goodies in NE CO(Barite, Calcite, fossils and several types of Chalcedony). I plan to invite Club Members along on some of those adventures also, likely soon if the snow continues melting.

This season I hope to have 3+ invites for Club Members to my claim.(Goethite, Fluorite, Xenotime, Quartz, Topaz, Hematite)

I have several trips planned for this season and hope to be able to involve Club Members whenever I can. This season may have a dozen or more localities and they are all larger than a 20 acre claim. Thousands of acres at least and you can go back when you like with some follow up research(except my claim). That is not including invites from other members or researched areas that come with your membership.

Compare all that plus the other invaluable information here to other Clubs and I think you will find no comparison. smiley-cool14.gif
