Rockyrat
I've been hiking in the Cheyenne Mountain State Park recently. On Friday I took some pictures of trees that just don't care what gets in their way.

I'm not sure when the Board and Cable were attached to their trees because they were in an area that was used as a ranch from the late 1800's up until 1961 when NORAD moved in. One would think that they couldn't last from the 1800's, but I did discover a LOT of rusty square nails in the same area. My research shows that square nails faded from the scene around 1910. So, how long have those trees been around? Good question.

Really cool pics and what a great photo topic! I also really like the one in the rock. I've seen a lot of these abnormalities over the years and will have to start taking pics now to add to your thread.
..... if only trees could talk, we'd get some great stories!

char098.gif Great shots Rockyrat! I definitely like the one with it growing through the rock. thumbsupsmileyanim.gif
Seems like it can be limitless as to how/where they grow. Here is a shot of one of our yard ornaments. This one was too cool to not load up as is and bring home to "replant" happy112.gif

This is a close up I took of it last month....

Cool seat Chris! thumbsupsmileyanim.gif You can definitely see how the board influenced the trees growth over MANY years.
