Yes I have used Systems Tool Kit (STK) quite a lot. The free version is limited in several ways (like no 3D modelling) but you can still have a lot of fun with it. Keep in mind that if you download it you'll be contacted by AGI periodically to see if they can help (aka sell) with add-ons to the program. They are not pushy and actually do want to help. They understand that some people are just playing around.
I haven't used it in a couple of years but if I remember correctly you can do a search through the program to obtain the most recent Two Line Element (TLE) sets for most satellites.
You can also find TLE's here:
http://celestrak.com/NORAD/elements/This is a cool site where you can get TLE's and do some other fun things with satellites in real time:
http://www.n2yo.com/Much obliged! I remember them pinging me in the past as well; can't blame them really. Lately I've found myself satisfied monitoring space weather (a habit I got into when I worked in this area in the AF) and various significant events, but I kinda miss playing with this stuff. More interests than time to do them all! Seems there are plenty of other space nerds here I can whet my appetite with though.
I poked around quickly on those links, then had to go refresh my memory on what the orbital elements are.
Lots of cool stuff there; thanks again!
