Has anyone been by rampart or know if the gate is open?

I was up there on May 3rd, and had success. It was my first time however so I wasn't totally sure where I was going. I believe I was working off of Rampart Range Rd, but I did come to a fork where there was a gate closing off the road. I think I remember the closed (left) road indicating it was towards Pike's Peak however, so I continued (right) down what was open.
