SteveK-Ca sent out the hand made chest that he made which will go to Mason as soon as we finish with the auctions.
The chest was made from red mahogany and is very nicely made.
Good work Steve and thank you.
Steve also enclosed an envelope from him and his buds in California.
I just pulled this off of the updates for Mason on DJ’s Detectors site.

Saturday the 10th... We just got home with Mason. Yesterday he went back in for more laser surgery. The growth had nearly blocked his entire airway again in the last 6 weeks. Doctor Bauman and her team did the laser surgery and cleaned the inside area of his airway clean of the growth again. This was the second time. We will take a look at it again in 2 months. They also changed his trach size to a 3.5mm ID up from a 3.0mm.
Mason handled all of this very well but is missing his voice once again. He had been doing a lot of vocalizing the last couple weeks. His airway had grown enough that he could push air past his trach and over his vocal cords very easily. It will be awhile before he is able to vocalize again now. He recovered from the surgery very quickly and only spent one night in the hospital this time. He is a tough little fella.
Thursday the 29th... Well it has been somewhat uneventful as of late. Mason is doing very well and growing like a weed. He still just has the 2 bottom teeth, but is working on the top ones. He is getting his balance a bit and is sitting up with very little help anymore. We do have to be careful so he doesn't tip over and land on his trach when the filter is on it. He is starting once again to push some air past his trach so he can vocalize again. It isn't very much or often, but we do get to hear his voice again.

There have been quite a few people who have sent Denise and I items to auction for Mason and the family. The show of support for their family has been fantastic!
One donation came all the way from Australia!
We started to raise funds for Mason at the Rocky Mountain Miners Rally here in Colorado. Si in NM donated several items including a beautiful meteorite that fell in 1947 in Russia and an 1899 silver certificate which both sold at the Rally.
So now with all the items we have collected we are going to do one GRAND AUCTION for all the items at the same time but all are separate and bid upon separately.
All the items will be listed here and then this thread will be locked.
Each piece will have it’s own thread with a pic where you can ask questions about the pieces or place bids or just talk about them.
Items to auction:
1 piece of gold ore from Grants pass in Oregon.
8 coins from various digs (as one package)
1 Black Hills gold ring.
1 petrified wood pendant from Australia.
1 website design package to help you start your new internet website.
5 cancer awareness bracelets (each will be separate but all done from the same thread)
Those are all the pieces we have for the auction. All the descriptions and pics will be in their corresponding threads.
Please feel free to post any questions or comments you may have there.
THANK YOU!
This auctions time line will be from now until midnight MST on 08/31/04.
At that time we will notify the winning bidders and all the funds collected and any unsold items will be sent to little Mason, Doug and Jarita.
Here is a pic of one really nice fellow who purchased the meteorite at the rally…..
Hmmmm….Who is that, he looks really familiar…
Oh yeah! That would be that very kind hearted fellow we all call Russau..... :D
