I have been prospecting for a few years now for a living. And I am amazed how many twists and turns I have been thru.. I remember in 2010 how my brother and I bought a gold claim in Arizona and were goin to strike it rich.. 8 months later we found ourselves homeless living on the Bear river in California living pan to pan.. I remember that we met some man who had a claim on salmon river in northern California and offered us a chance to work it..We packed everything and went up to the claim only to have the supposed claim owner leave after a few days making an excuse saying he would be back. Wouldn't ya know it he never came back and of course he took the gold...We ended up snowed in and blm imformed us he was not the claim owner..it was a miserable 2 months in a tent.. seemed to be always cold always raining.. But I stuck with it.. I do not claim riches but I make wage with just hand tools.. I will admit that their can be some rough times but I am getting better and more oppurtunities have shown themselves. I figure as in all things no matter if choose prospecting or to want to be a doctor it all in the effort!!

Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.

As long as your drive to succeed is stronger than your fear of failure. (I think Bill Cosby said that) You can accomplish most anything. Heck of a story.

Marshall,
I am thoroughly impressed with your tenacity and work ethic/philosophy. That 72 is big and I know what kind of effort it takes to put that together in a season (much less 30-40 days!) regardless the method, you should be very proud.
Once again your bedrock looks so impressive and wish I was working an area like that, the scenery is breathtaking and your camps look peaceful. Thanks for the great vids again and your music choices are perfect.
As a fellow miner I fully appreciate your work and updates and I know that many here do. greensmilies-012.gif
Keep up the good work and keep us posted, I'm rootin for ya bud.

I really do appreiacte the support..By no means am I close to finished.. I still consider myself an infant at prospecting. Thanks I actually love making the vids. Just wish I had more time and I wasn't always tired.. Im hoping that maybe one day the vids may help provide a little money to help my winter funds...As you know just like gold every little bit adds up... I am in the midst of making plans to up my game... But gold is a very finniky business.. Anyway ill stop babbling.. Ihope this finds you and your loves one well!!

The 8th of September was a great day! I walked home with 8.1 grams.. I managed to finally move a crucial rock.. I was pretty excited.. I went back yesterday but only got 1.3 grams. That's gold for ya.. Anyway I'm taking life easy today as I have a 5 day trip on the 13th that I must prepare for..
