So I am building a new bathroom and and my wife and I both really like fossils so we went on ebay and picked up a few small ones and I have tiled them in as accent pieces. So here is what I need right now the fossils are just stone. I know I need to seal them with something but dont really know what. I tried grout sealer but it makes them very cloudy. I am considering some kind of urethane but I figured I would ask here first. I want that wet look and for them to be water proof. None of the fossils are under direct water so they will only have splash hitting them. Any how here are a few pics of what I have and let me know if you know of a product to seal them with.

wow!~ thats really nice! i bought some sealer that you spray on from Home Depot and its clear. you spray it on, wipe it off, allow it to dry and reapply it. they say 2 coats 2 X a year. im sure that would do what your wanting!ill get the info off the bottel later this morning and post it.

Andrew,
Really nice project... I like the idea!
There are several products that would work well for this. Contact Rio Grande Supply on Santa Fe in Denver and explain what you are trying to do, they should be able to lend expert advice and recommend a product.

Andew - after doing many like projects with Karen over the years, we have plenty of stone sealer left over, I will bring some in to work tomorrow. It works on slate, sandstone, limestone, granite, marble, etc. It is a penetrating sealer that goes well beneathe the surfaace to protect and waterproof the stone.

Andrew, have you had the chance to use the sealer? If so, how did it turn out?
