Would be interesting to know what's in that water. Dan lived up that direction years ago, he'd likely know more about that place.

BTW, if you go in any mines, make sure you have the right to go in there. And make darned sure you have protective gear- bump cap, gloves, and good boots (preferably steel toed). If you're going in, go in safe!
