Hello everyone,

If you hadn't seen it yet last month, we have an awesome little fluorite picture showing beautiful phantoms. Normally Denise likes to put up a new picture every month but I like this one so much that we'll be leaving it on the homepage for the month of September too. thumbsupsmileyanim.gif
(she made me say that so everyone didn't think she was slackin') smiley-laughing021.gif

Check out the ColoradoProspector homepage fluorite image and enjoy the website everyone.

Unakite wink.gif
Denise
I merged your thread with this one Russ. I set up the home page picture with an ALT tag, so if you point your cursor on the image it will tell you what it is . happy088.gif Many of the images on the website do it.

Unakite is some really cool stuff! The green material is Epidote. I used some Unakite for the "What's This? #38". It polishes out nicely so is great for tumbeling and working for cabachons.

Here is a picture of that sweet Fluorite CP was talking about. happy.gif One of my favorites!

Drat and double drat! The camera battery died just when I had several humming birds waiting their turn at the feeder!
Denise
You still have time to charge the battery and get that picture Caveman. happy112.gif Taking submissions for next month now.

The charger is in the house in Broomfield somewhere, we can't find it yet... but I got the camera in the phone working again, so I will be using that.
Denise
No club member pic submissions for this month, so I just used one of my photos for the homepage. blush.gif

Hummingbirds are not cooperating - must be new ones - they scoot whenever I come out the door, and stay away when I wait for 'em.
Denise
We have some Thirteen-lined ground squirrels that are the same way. Was funny watching it eat a grape. giggle.gif
The pictures don't have to be new ones. They can be photos you have had for a long time, they just need to be yours.
char098.gif
Caveman
Well now - I got some good ones in Broomfield, taken by Karen and myself from all over. I'll have to raid her facebook pics to get some of the better ones....
Denise

Here is a "diamond" I found at Garden of the Gods ;)
CP
Wow Crusty, that first picture is spectacular! Almost looks like an oil painting! Nice shots and I can tell, you loved your hot wheels when you was little huh? Me too! biggrin.gif
But I don't think that quite fits the criteria for submit instructions giggle.gif That is a killer picture though! Love all the hoar frost, it really accents the caddy. Nice day to be in Garden of the Gods!

Saw the frost at the house in Falcon and figured it'd be a good day to head to GotG. Spent a little while shooting the car and then headed out for a few hours of hiking. Was 7° when I started.

(I need to clean the sensor on my camera... as you can see there is some dust in there :( )
CP
Another great shot Crusty!

Nice pic!

I've been playing with it for awhile... some turn out better than others. This one isn't perfect, as the exposure in the gaps in the trees is still off and there are some halos. When I retire I'm seriously considering using my GI bill to get a 2-year photography degree, just so I can actually know what I'm doing instead of just winging it lol
swizz
I kinda have mixed feelings about HDR. It's become really popular and most of the public images have too much of an over-saturated look for my taste, it's getting somewhat abused or passe. I like the look you created with this pic and the Caddi pics though. thumbsupsmileyanim.gif
My taxidermist buddy has been dabbling with it for a few months now and I like what he's been putting out... but he's also a pro nature and studio photographer. I'll mess with it at some point but don't have the software yet. I have to prioritize a bigger lens before anything.
Anyways.... awesome work Crusty!! You rock!
Denise
No submissions for this month, so I add a picture I recently took of a Colorado goodie.....check it out!

llamabox
Looks like the nodules my kids pick up in Del Norte.
Denise
Some great stuff in that area also!! thumbsupsmileyanim.gif My son Tim actually picked up that one. Don't you just love when the kids get into prospecting? happy088.gif
He thought it was cool that I added it to the homepage.

Me! Me! I'm Feb. LOL - (side note, I just had a scary thought of a calender of myself... shudders) Anywho, anything from endless - maybe one of the shots of the collection (from a day trip or the collection overall) or just one of the bigger crystals. I'll post some pics of the ones I think'id be good. If/when (I locate them in the mass of photo's I've taken) and/or if this is still a need be.
