Here's another one about the up coming administration that maybe hopefully a bit more positive or that preverbial "light at the end of the dark tunnel"?
Oddly enough, and to the suprise of many in the enviro you know what world.........The president elects appointed person to take on the secratary of the interior position (head of BLM/Mining) will be Ken Salazar from Colorado. He's known as someone who's pro mining.
Here's a link to that story at
Mineweb.Hello Everyone:
When Ken Salazar was appointed, I was rather surprised but excited as well. Having worked for and with Ken while he was with the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, I had gained respect for his views of mining here in Colorado.
Everyone needs to be involved if they want to protect their interests. I've been a member of Colorado Mining Association for a few years. Recently they/we were successful in getting the Colorado Supreme Court to agree to continue the use of cyanide leach methods for gold extraction. I'm proud to have been able to assist them with support for that worthy cause.
If you have an opinion or want to promote a position politically, I would encourage you to seek out like minded folks and join up with them. That is the best way to protect your interests without having to hire your own attorney or lobbyist.
Sincerely,
ASTROBLEME
