Now that We've seen a few of these shows, I'll watch some more. It seems like they finaly got it right this time.
Last year, most of the show were, well, hate to be negative, but they simply were false. mad.gif
The opal mines RARELY produce anything worth value (aside from your own personal collection), because it crazes so much. And a couple of the places they showed to "wash for emaralds, rubies and other gemstones" are fakes. They salt their material. The fellow in Brazil we buy alexandrite from sells them buckets of mine run for dirt cheap. (I can hook you up...... :) ) And it goes on and on. You can prospect/dig for sunstone on BLM land about 20 miles from the mine FOR FREE and do just as well sometimes.
Sorry to be negative, but I don't like liars.
Becky and I emailed back and forth several times about this stuff. And cash and treasures were supposed to do Joe's mine (the topaz mountain gem), and we were up thewr for shooting, but they didn't even show up. They called the next day and cancelled. Come to find out later that it was because it is not open to the public anymore.
Oh, and Becky is pregnant with twins. You can email her and congratulate her at beckyworley.com.

Anyways, this year they are doing REAL stuff, like the emerald hollow mine, jade cove, lake superior agates (already mentioned above), etc., which, to me, is a lot more realistic and honest than paying a samll fortune to dig/wash for salted stuff or stuff that has no use. Kudos to Dave Frank and crew. This year it is real places, real treasure, real fun and DO-ABLE! biggrin.gif

It seems Kirsten has come a long way since the race!

p.s.- you might see someone you know in one or two of these shows...........

Guess what my guess was right.......look at the cab stone right below the Chase icon......looks like a fire agate to me.....so i was wondering if there was going to be a fire agate show.....guess what there is and looks like the place to me....Kirsten looks for fire agates at the Opal Hill mine in the Mule Mountains near Palo Verde, Cal.
