Ok, Heres a different rock Jim sent out to see if we could help identify.

It has a sheen like a calcite crystal, but appears to be a water worn botryoidal formation.....hmmmmm??? huh.gif

What do you think it could be?

O yea this a a very nice piece of the very rare alfa crystal. Notice the very typical age rings. Good find. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif Joe

please elaborate on this alfa crystal for me. we have had others view it but you are the first to give it a name. bill explained alot about it in a scientific way but you sound like you have maybe seen this formation before.

I figured it out.After much head scratching and research.The above photo is a petrified hail stone from the jurassic period.Notice the familiar ice crystal formations. cool.gif ph34r.gif Jim
