Which one of these rocks do you think holds beauty inside?

Bottom left..... I was leaning that way too.... but I'll go with dead center, seeing something interesting in the upper left hand portion of that one. Upper right has some nice exposed banding too.... hmmmm, I bet they are all pretty nice! -------------------- /l ,[____], l---L-OlllllllO- ()_) ()_)--o-)_) BLACK SANDS MATTER! Middle center and middle right look to be agate nodules, top right and bottom middle look to be 2 halves of the same solid rock, top middle looks like the kind of rock that I hope there's something good in (but never does), top left looks promising - as does middle left - but both are a little small, so I went with bottom left, as it looks to be the larger half of middle left. Probably over thunk this.

I like hearing the reasons you would think there is good stuff inside!

Alright here's my WAG at it,
All on the left display the typical shape of a geode. It is possible that the top one on the left is just a sandstone nodule, I'm probably wrong but I have seen some perfictly round stones here in Colorado that turn out to just be sandstone through and through. The first two on the right I would say are Agate, leaning towards Jasper. The one at the top center row I would hazzard to say is strictly Jasper. The one dead center in the picture really has my intrest peaked. It could be a type of Fire Agate and a real show stopper! There are two rocks in the bottom row that I would not expect to show much, that would be the center and right. That center one on the left does show a little teaser but there could be two different answers here. One answer might be the pattern that the banded agate makes inside a solid core rock. The other answer might be a very gemmy pocket of Amethyst , or like crystals, inside a hollow geode. Before I give my answers could you flip over that center stone and let me have a look at it please? lol Ah what the heck, For best awsome pattern with a solid core.... The rock dead center in the picture! For a beautiful pocket of Gemmy Crystals..... The Geode on the bottom left! That one displays the typical bummpy/scalely crust that just screams, Crystals! -------------------- Proud CP Lifetime Member

I did take a picture of them all flipped over in the same positions, but I'm going to hold off posting it in case others want to examine them and reply first.
The results may really surprise you though. ![]() -------------------- Education is the key to the future,

None of these are from Colorado though. They were given to us as is, I'm thinking most (if not all) are Brazilian agate nodules. No one picked my favorite (bottom right) , seems it was one of the last ones looked at.

Wow, those are all winners. I agree that lower right is the best looking, the shape resembles a human footprint.

They are pretty cool! It definitely looks like a foot print Chris!
![]() ![]() ![]() When I saw them piled in a wooden box, I thought right away there could be damage to the cut face making it difficult to polish out. ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- Education is the key to the future,
