I have some gold I put in a small plastic container with water. The water leaked out and the gold looks very dull. Can anyone let me know why?

if you leave your gold in water and in the sunlight, itll grow alge! try putting it into rubbing alcohol.

White vinegar works well also if stored in a vial.
