ive edited this picture to see the real colors, as this pic earlier looked more blue than usual , this picture is great because you get to look directly into disolved rock , you can see the many many rocks that get brought up in the kimberlite , if you look closley you can see many of precious and semi precious gravels haha , Pic taken in may , nuff said

Great pics Bennie!! Some of those pics sure look like this stuff here in NM I've been steppin' over. Has anyone done any research in NM??? Would anyone be interested in any of these places here
I've Located?? How about a nice piece of yellow cake?? Sure wish I knew where to start.

id be interested in these locations, but just for curiosity sake! the price of fuel today keeps me close to home.

whell Jack , most kimberlites usually full of very old prescious rock from the upper mantle (types of kyanites corundums spinels found in lherzolites eclogites harzburgites peridotites which all are encrusted with chrome diopside and garnet and others) heres an "Garnet Lherzolite Nodule" from the upper mantle notice the rare purple G10 garnets ;)
Kimberlites are usually easy to identify as when they weather they become a destinct soft clay which if you take the shovel too , you would be able to see different colors or paterns in which are some forighn rocks which got picked up, when kimberlites soften and breakdown they release hydrochloric acid which will destroy most even gemmy specimens, so most best musieum worth pieces lie deep and in unweathered kimberlite ,
Diamond is unaffected by any acid known to man

this and thelast one are yet to be identified but all have some type of signature commiting the origin to the upper mantle , on this one you can see the g10 garnet megacryst's in a unidentified mantle rock

Diamondiferious Kimberlites are only found in older precambrian sides of the basement where as not diamondiferious kimberlites are found on younger prortions of the craton,,,, in colorado and wyoming most of the kimberlites are found in precambrian granite and most of the time the granite is reddish to brown and KIMBERLITE is very noticeble when located at surphase or anywhere from an inch to a few feet down it can be found
heres a picture of the usual destinct kimberlitic soils outcropping the surphase where its very gray blue compared to the red granitic soils that make up the precambrian basement of the area which also has no source of montmorillonite calcium or chlorite onthe precambrian areas with the exception of a Diamondiferious intrusion or a fossil bed hehe if you see gray white blue purple or green soil in a precambrian area it should be explored for "xenoliths"which are forighn rocks and can even be circles or paterns of other soils in the kimberlite which is nocicable when the rock-soil is cut with the shovel if you see that your definalley talkin , at which point youd explore it for definitive indicator minerals that would be undeniable evidence an ultrmafic mantle origin ......
maybe this will come in handy for you someday , never know where the next "thing" will be located then to own an awesome site , theres some motivation ,,, lol

Bennie i wonder if that lake is what you think it is ,i wonder if dredgeing that lake would ease the recovery of diamonds??
