These are a few of the tektites that I have collected over the past years. These were collected just a few miles from Springfield, CO. on family land. I’m not real sure about the larger ones, but they do seem to match descriptions of tektites. Years ago I picked these up wondering what they could be. When I’m out there hunting rocks, I see several of these laying about. I wonder where these originated, because all the information I have seen on tektites seems to be only about the North American strewn field, which runs from the east coast to east Texas. These tektites I’m finding are found on an 80 acre piece of land that has a shallow canyon. I believe that most of the rock material on this land is being exposed due to erosion, so most likely these tektites along with the other rocks were once many feet underground. Most of my searching has been above the canyon rim. The surrounding land around this 80 acres slopes down to the canyon. I would be interested in knowing more about what meteorite impact may be responsible for them.

Hello Gary,

Most likely candidate, in my opinion, is a 22 mile diameter crater named "Haswell Hole".

I have some information posted here that you'll be interested in;
