What ever happened to them? It seems now that there is a water treatment facility there. Can you still pan or metal detect?
Thanx

Hi Todd, and welcome to the CP forums. Sorry to say but Diggers place has been gone for several years now, and Im not sure where he is now. Sure do miss him though, hes a great guy!
About digging there, they kind of frown on anyone being at the plant working the ground now. mellow.gif
http://www.coloradoprospector.com/Vic's_Gold_Panning/vics.html is still right up the road though.

Thankyou for your reply, Mrs. CP. As it was digger who taught me all about gold 30 some years ago (oops...getting old), he is missed. I was informed by a couiple of fellows a few years ago that digger had died and they were leasing the land from his heirs, but then they disapeared, too. I used to spend all summer up there "back in the day". But, marriage, kids, you know the routine. Then I got severly raped by a dealer in fort collins named larry finnel for my whole life's savings (about $30,000), and, being handicapped, it has taken me a long time to come back. I have been to Vic's a few times, but Bob's place was oh so great and since the casinos have moved in, nothing seems to be the same. My wife loves the casinos, so it gives me a chance to go up there, but I have only done good at the old timer. I sure do wish we could still go there. It was a great spot. Again, thank you for your reply and maybe the boss and I will see you all out there this summer digging for crystals or sluicing for gold! biggrin.gif

Wow it's a small world after all lmao........Larry Finnel huh lmao.........that's who i bought my 2.5 inch highbanker dredge combo from unsure.gif lol but i didn't get ripped off by him. Yes i have heard from people that he is a ripoff but i paid $1066 for my highbanker dredge combo and i got 15 feet of suction hose instead of the standard 10............so i guess i was lucky then huh biggrin.gif

Yah, I'm the guy who bought his business from him. He was supposed to retire, but still sold detectors and stuff even though we had a no compete clause in the contract. And he never turned over the 800 numbers, never gave me a list of distributors, didn't teach me @$%#%, etc. etc. Basicaly, just sold me all the crap he couldn't sell (and over charged me way too much) and went on his merry way. I sued him, he made me an "out of court offer" that I took, because I didn't want to hurt either of our's reputation. But then he called white's and other places and told a bunch of lies about me, etc. You would think an old man like that would be honest, but I got screwed. But on the positive side of things, I still own the business and can get stuff for people ALOT cheaper than anywhere else, but don't have anything in stock, as I no longer have a storefront. No promises, but if someone needs something, I can do better than any dealer except for maybe Doug sometimes.
Anyways, I'm tired of whining good luck and happy th'ing!

Well that's a shame but i don't blame ya....i would of done the same. The reason i got such a good deal is the guy that ordered the combo never came and got it lol, so i'm wondering if he got ripped off unsure.gif but anyways i knew he was backing out of the building there on the east side of town and moveing it to his basement. I never have gone back to him since blink.gif and that's probably a good thing. Get on chat sometime if u want and we can talk, maybe we could meet someday.
