I should be there by around 8 but I don't think the sun kisses that part of the canyon until about 9.

I'm planning on getting there earlier than last time; it will probably be just me, so likely between 8 and 9.

We drove up to check out the area so I'd know where to go. Mile marker 260 is at tunnel six? There's a bunch of construction going on right there.
Do you guys park before the light or after the left turn?
I saw a few parking spots before the traffic light and there's one after tunnel six.
We can be there at 8-9, whenever is fine.

Supposed to be almost 70!! Whooohoo.

The large parking area is about 100ft downstream from the physical MM. It's paved and has a big wooden sign regarding the Open Space. See ya's in the morning!

Another great day yesterday. Very nice to meet Johnny and friends. cheers.gif
EMac - bummer that your pump decided to dump, hope you can get that resolved soon. I have to work this afternoon but may have time to do a BB cleanup today. I think that Johnny & crew are back at it up there today. emoticon-misc-004.gif

Thanks Swizz and Emac on hooking me up with a place to dig for a couple of days. I'll go back there again sometime when I'm in the area.
I saw alot of places that looked real promising across the creek but most of it was covered under an ice sheet a foot thick and I didn't bring waders to cross, no biggy.
I was surprised how much I got anyway!
Curtis and Travis had fun on saturday and we found some gold so that's what's up! Whooohoo!

Here's a pic of what I could pan out easily. I have my cons from the bazooka which show real good fine gold so it will go into my CONtainer.

Thanks fellas! It was a great time and worth checking out! I'm looking forward to next time already!

I haven't gotten through my panning yet from the first day out there this year, so I don't have any pics yet. I won't have time to get to the creek this weekend, but I should be able to pan some in the backyard.

I'm bummed about the pump; it has a 3-year warranty, so I contacted Attwood. The confluence of my busted pump, my envy of the massive hole the guys with the dredge made next to Chris, and the seemingly ubiquitous love of Angus Mackirk sluices, I've been looking at the options there. Flirting with diverting this thread, does anyone have comparative experience with an AM dredge/high banker (Chameleon, Pack Rat, Klondike or Yukon)? These are 2.5" rigs which are attractive to me for their portability.

The Yukon DC and Klondike DC look awesome, and fairly priced. I'm toying with the idea of switching out my highbanker A-52 box with an Angus box. I'm definitely sold on drop-riffle systems.
