Beer Assistant, For Next Spring/Summer Options

Thought I'd make a post now and see if I get any bites from now until next spring/summer.

Granted, I'm new to rock hounding/mining - but the passion/fever is in me.

I'm looking for a job, a real job mining, within Colorado. The least I can say for myself, I'm honest (sometimes brutally). I don't like small talk/BS, get to the point - always been this way, kinda makes me an A.H. (which, I've been known to self proclaim, least I know what I am) - I'd like to think I'm trustworthy. I can travel to western Colorado, if need be, as long as I have somewhere to stay - on that note, I can camp at site (if acceptable) within my truck. I currently work retail.. but would take a few months off for mining. If you want to know more about me, message me.

I don't know how to opp heavy equipment - however I am a very fast, hands on learner. Show me once or twice and I'll get it. No BS.

If anyone has anything - please, please respond. I've found my calling - love to dig and extract treasures.

From your post, it sounds like you're only looking for summer work at a small-scale operation; but if you decide to take the plunge and go full-time, the two operations that I've looked at close to the Front Range are the Anglo-Ashanti/Cripple Creek & Victor gold mine and the Climax molybdenum mine. If you want to get a feel for what it's really like to work in an open pit mega-mining operation, CC&V offers an excellent tour from Memorial thru Labor Day (http://www.victorcolorado.com/mining.htm), but I see this year they have weekend tours thru Sept 14. I took the tour last month; they load you on a bus and take you to the lowest level of the mine, where you get to stand in the control room just feet from monster trucks unloading 250 tons of ore into the crushers. Cool experience.

I looked at them both, sounds like you need engineering training/background for the Moly Mine. Or just general experience with heavy machinery. And as far as Cripple Creek/Victor goes, I don't really want to gold mine. I did several tours in northern California when I lived there. I'd prefer to work in the gem/crystal field - sorry forgot to add that in my original post.
