I like the ideas above on letting the owner/operator get his pick of a nugget for each day. And the tenders were mentioned also. How many tenders are going to be used? Maybe the cons can be screened down to something like 1/8 inch or 1/4 inch, and anything bigger than that can be auctioned, then the rest of the cons can be divided equally into baggies of the black sands and an auction on one bag can set the price for each bag. Or give one or 2 bags to a drawing for kids only who put their names in a hat, under whatever age you think appropriate.

I can't emphasize how important it is to get the general public (non-miners) involved. You can have a thousand miners there, but you would be preachin to the choir.... for this Rally to have any great impact, you MUST have the non-mining public attend ... make sure that you have someone "local" assigned to that task specifically.

By planning and announcing the Rally, you are already assured that the miners will be there...activities or not....

One of the most important groups that you should invite and INVOLVED is the metal Detector community... they will swell your numbers greatly, and many of them may well decide to add gold mining to their arsenal... The numbers of people involved with MD is far greater than the numbers of miners and we could certainly use their voices when it comes time for action.

Vendors are important also... they will help you get the word out and many times will freely donate items (without your asking) for raffle or auction.

Thats enough for now, if you want more all ya gotta do is ask...

I agree Gene,
We do need to attract as many non-miners as we can.
We have contacted the Eureka Treasure Hunters President and we plan to contact several more...... :)

Now if someone would just give us a date......... laugh.gif :D laugh.gif OH! that is what I'm suppose to be finding out........ rolleyes.gif :) laugh.gif

K, back to the grind....... <_<

Here's a thought that might attract the non mining community to the rally , Live Music , anybody know how to contact Scott Meadows ? I bet he would perform for the crowds . Gotta Get Wet To Find Gold and some of his other songs !!! or how about The N G D B , they are originally from Evergreen , they might enjoy a homecoming performance !!! Just a thought . Dan

Hi DBinCo,
The rally will be free, but you will have to pay for the Argo tour, or any other town's tour's you may take. ;)
Close by is also the Phoenix Gold Mine
He also gives tours, and is a great guy. :D ^_^
And there is the Edgar Experimental Mine, 303-567-2911. Im not sure if they tour, but I can find out.
I added more info, and pics on the rally page on our web site if everyone wants to see the area some, and the creek.
I hope this helps some. :)
