I'm not entirely sure of the area you're talking about as I live south in Colorado Springs, and have possibly been to the area twice previously. Are we talking about where 1-70 and 76 intersect near that's near Broadway? If so, it looks like businesses, cities, and towns are ganging up on us prospectors mad.gif , or some of us haven't, like you said, respectful, and or courteous. chin.gif

that is the area, under the over passes, the only place to park was at the Crear Creek business park, but, to many were parking there and interfearing with business and so they had to shut it down to public use. There is parking a 1/2 mile or so away, down 72nd across from the NAPA auto store.

I've attended the Adams Co. open space meeting this last Monday, and they are in support of the recreational gold panning activitys, but, are antimate about NO motroized use of equipment on Clear Creek in the Adams Co. open space areas and every one needs to fill in their holes when done, and as long as EVERY ONE follows these rules there will be no problems for future use.

Also need to mention that not all of the creek bed is open space, some is private (only the bike trail is open), like down by Washington street and you will need to ask for permission, but I have not been refused yet by any one. Good luck to all and fill in your holes when done.
