Looks like there is a new show coming next week to the Discovery Channel that I have high hopes for. It looks bad ass and I think it would fit nicely up my alley. I am excited to be going on this
journey vicariously. It is called, “Devil’s canyon”. It appears to be a series about three guys who head out into the remote hills in search of that elusive dream……. Gold! Of course it will probably
fail to live up to the hype that I’m giving it, but I’ll be watching to see how it unfolds. Woody.

Yeah it looks awesome and all the gold shows makes me wish I had TV kinda.
One of the guys on there is sluice goose on treasure net and he was posting some stuff about it. He said we'd get to see him at his worst and it was the hardest thing he'd ever done hehe.

There are some postings on FB forums casting for a survival/prospecting show now.

Hope they live up to the hype and aren't just more drama filled nonsense!

After the first two episodes, I want to like this series. My only complaint would be that they dropped them off just before winter which makes it much more of a survival show than prospecting... that's annoying. I love survival shows (like "Alone") but give these guys a better chance so we can see more prospecting. Like, say.... drop them off in the springtime or summer at least. Just give them a fighting chance and more time in the wilderness rather than late fall when it is unreasonably difficult to survive for any long period of time. I realize they are attempting to appeal to two viewer demographics for monetary gain. Maybe it will work but the show spreads both genres a little thin.

After a few more episodes, I am liking the series more. Very good looking Gold and a nice dose of survival.

I watched the first episode on YouTube but that's all I've seen posted so far. Seems like a pretty cool show and the water looks dang cold! I haven't seen any gold yet.... eating-popcorn-03.gif

That was an excellent series. I really hope they film another season, and it needs to be longer. Since everyone is filming themselves, we are spared the heavy drama that these prospecting shows always fall victim to. Super impressive Gold finds and no bull****.
Well done! I gotta give this one two thumbs up. thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Devil's Canyon. I found your thread today (7.11.2019) while I was searching archives for something else. I have one of these Sluice Goose Goldrops, and am putting it through its paces after working the Cape Disappointment gold in BlackSands beach gold in its first ever Cape D beach test, June 22, 2019 for over 6 hrs.

I'm excited about this unit.

Just through you'd like hearing this since you took the time to post on thsi topic back 2 yrs and 2 months go. The inventor didn't "fall in" but a nifty unit sure has popped out.
