My wife , Hannah, and I spent the weekend up around lake City 2 weeks ago. I had found some pieces of Jasper on a section of private land we have access to while out shed hunting summer of 2016. We decided to spend a day and hopefully snag a few agates up on some neighboring blm land. Agates we may have missed......but oooo the Jasper! 2 trips hiking back to the car to carry 30-40 pounds of it out along with several crystals a massive elk shed (6 by) chalcedony and more. It may take a while to get more pictures up, but here are a few for now of the specimens.

#1 Weighed in around 3.5 pounds! Colorado Jasper!

#2 Another 1.5 pounds of a root beer brown Jasper!

Not exactly sure on #3. Found lots of this. Seems to be an agate layer so I'm guessing it's in the family of micro quartz. Not sure about why in this specific area all of the outsides were green. Copper something?

#5 stopped by johnnybravo's place on the way back and found a bit of petrified wood. We also checked out the septarian nodules but found no good crystals.

#6 I think this is agate/jasper in the rough. One side has some Jasper looking material showing, but I have yet to chip it for a test look inside.

#7 is what I found my first trip out while hunting sheds. Semi-translucent and beautifully smooth.

It was great meeting up with you guys and meeting your better half. Hannah is a real keeper and you did good!
The sep nods didn't turn out to be worth five figures or anything but it was cool to find that big one. I'm glad you got some pet wood also. That hill surprises me everytime....just when I think I've collected it all I find more.
You guys can text us anytime!

Also found this just uphill from the source of the jasper. I'm thinking calcite? Anyone confirm? Need to do some testing to really be sure, but I've been lazy. The largest crystal on the plate is strangely hollow. First time I've ever seen that.
