I was pleased to view the recent GOLD RUSH show that detailed their interest in Colorado gold placers near the towns of Fairplay and South Park . I agree with Todd Hoffman's crew that they are in the best gold they've ever mined. Over the past many seasons of the show, I've wondered why they didn't just come to Colorado to fulfill their dreams. It was a pleasant surprise to see my family's mining interests in full view from the camera shots from Pennsylvania Mountain where the large nuggets were recovered during their testing.

My family has been working mining claims in the London Mountain and Pennsylvania Mountain area producing precious and base metals for longer than I can clearly remember. One thing we always value very highly is gold bearing fossil remains such as the 16 TON GOLDEN GENEVIEVE DINOSAUR as noted in the attachment below.

The site high up Pennsylvania Mountain that Hoffman and Dodge tested may have remnant fossils occurring along with the LARGE GOLD NUGGETS they recovered. I wish them the best in finding placer gold and hope they can recover some gold bearing fossils, as those finds would be very interesting to the followers of this series.

Yes I see that. The land I live on is half a section but the roads aren't marked correctly on the maps. Namely the natl geo waterproof tearproof type. I haven't noticed many discrepancies but some.
Most of the patented land I've run into have been pretty accurate and I notice because I try to avoid it. Plus they are fenced off sometimes and Its not the same as walking across a persons unpatented claim which is no big deal.
I can see that would probably be the hardest part of prospecting there. The trespassing part worries me although It can usually be worked out with some map work.
It's a little drive from Gunnison so I'd be sure to do my research before that trip. I like to have a good plan worked out and having a list is better for me. There's enough to think about with everything else and especially if the fever is kicking in. That's when dumb things happen hehe.
