Video Review
I've owned a Bazooka fluid bed sluice and it did an OK job of being able to run material unclassified. I know there was a loyal following for them and folks were bummed when they went out of business. Well if you haven't heard, Dennis Henry took on the challenge of keeping the technology going, forming a new company, Grizzly Gold Trap. Not only did he do that, he spent a great deal of time improving on Bazooka's design, testing 30 different drill patterns in the fluid bed tubes to get ideal exchange, adding drop riffles in front of the grizzly bars (and they work great), smoothing out the grizzlies to eliminate the little flat spot that used to hang material up, making the fluid bed bigger, and flattening out the angle to make it easier to set up. I got the largest model, the Motherlode; I've tested it out twice and I'm a believer! Once set up, I had no problems hammering it with unclassified material, which cleared without issue. I was having a bit of a problem in the video with flat rocks hanging up, but afterwards, I adjusted the flow and it worked perfectly. If you liked the Bazooka, you'll love the Grizzly Gold Trap! Drop riffles work! Great preview to save time test panning and ensure you're still on the gold. They clear with a quick wave of the hand in the water flow, so you can continue to see (or not see) how well you're doing.

I haven’t tried the Motherlode (yet!) but I have the midsized unit, the Explorer. I’m one of those fluid bed enthusiasts Crusty mentioned LoL! Anyway, I agree with his asssessment, the added R&D time Dennis invested has paid off. The Explorer is easier to set up and catches more of the -100 gold than the Bazooka did, it’s a definite win!
Oh, and Grizzly Goldtrap is based in Littleton, these new sluices are 100% Colorado made! -------------------- www.findingGOLDinColorado.com - my website with info on where to dig and where to see Colorado's gold mining history.

Just delightedly saw a new application for the Bazooka Sluice which several of us have....Turn the thing around, place your bilge pump hose in the opening in the business end of the concealed Fluid bed, from which we normally pour out our captured gold---YES, send the bilge pump water INTO that cavity. It will come gushing out and onto the front deck in a more or less laminar flow. Then use it as a "Miller table" and let the water sort your gold from your blacksands. Still need one of those small, paint brushes...either from the art department of your favorite school supplies section of Family Dollar, or a 1" wide natural bristle Harbor Freight paint brush to gather your gold into one place. Then SNUFFER IT UP!
