Thanks Swizz!! Taking pictures is a passion of mine, and hopefully it shows in my photos.
Fantastic sunset! Great detail and color in the clouds, I can almost see them moving. Cool the way it looks like the tips of the bush are reaching for the sky over the mountains! I love the black silhouettes shown when the suns coming up or going down. Such a peaceful sight. Great examples in your pictures guys! The color in yours Hawkewind is also fantastic! That picture really says alot, and talk about an evening thought. That picture definately gives one a peaceful deep in thought feeling. Great shot! Im a big fan of the Canon cameras! What kind of DSLR are you using Swizz, inquiring minds want to know. Keep them pics coming guys, you take great pictures and we really enjoy seeing them! -------------------- Education is the key to the future,

I forgot to mention that mine was shot on a beach on the South Island in New Zealand
Here is another that inspires me that I took....it was a 12 hour trip in a long, long cave; One from outside Moab; Finally, a seal that chased me all the way into the woods, through the trees; |

I especially like the seal on the beach! I definately get a peaceful evening feeling from that picture.........followed by a few giggles knowing it chased your behind down for taking the pic. Thanks for sharing them with us! Here is one I took a few days ago as the sun went down. What kind of DSLR are you using Swizz... I currently have an Olympus E-420 with two lens': 14-42mm and 40-150mm zooms. When I purchased the camera it was the lightest and most compact DSLR I could justify for under $1K. Since I do a lot of backcountry stuff the weight factor is important to me. If I were to buy a DSLR today, I'd seriously consider the Nikon D5000. It's got everything I want (and more) in an even smaller package at a very reasonable price. Technology just keeps getting better and better! -------------------- /l ,[____], l---L-OlllllllO- ()_) ()_)--o-)_) BLACK SANDS MATTER! Thanks!
It's a total white-out here or I'd be returning the favor. .... but we need the moisture! One of these days I'm going to capture a "sun pillar" for your other thread. Tricky to catch them, I've been looking since you posted that. -------------------- /l ,[____], l---L-OlllllllO- ()_) ()_)--o-)_) BLACK SANDS MATTER! At the end of the day, have you ever sat and thought about what a great day it was? Im refering to the little things you observed during the day.
This morning started off stormy and cloudy so I wasnt hopeful on seeing any Lyrid Meteors, but I tried anyways. What a great surprise! There was only one spot in the sky exposing the stars, but the right spot I guess since I started to see meteors and added lightning. Great combination I thought! I could also hear the loo loo bird (Boreal owl) in the background, so right away I knew this was going to be a good day. After the sun came up I also saw my first butterfly of the season and a pair of Red house finches in the yard. I also observed Dan cut two thin slabs of Opal for me for Guitar picks. I know they are too soft to use, but I have always wanted to make an Opal guitar pick. So I guess my evening thought is....... I wonder if tomorrow will be just as good. -------------------- Education is the key to the future,

as i get older i often (every day)reflect back on the days events and thank God for the little things that make my day! i needed to slow down and "smell the roses" of life and thank the One that made all this possible! when i was younger i never had the time to think about it, or so i thought! how wrong i was!
