Just a reminder to anyone who likes this show ( smileywaving.gif me!).
New season kicks off tonight on The Weather Channel, I believe at 7pm.

Posted by: swizz Dec 7 2014, 08:39 AM

.... just remembered we have our monthly CP Club mtg tonight too!
I'll have to record this episode. happy088.gif

Posted by: MikeS Dec 7 2014, 09:34 AM

I will likely record the show as well. The show has motivated me to get back into digging crystals for sure. I have been following Amanda's FB page. I hope they show the Peridot she has been finding! Want to go hunting next year for some. They say the Colorado Peridot is all claimed up. I hope to show otherwise. thumbsupsmileyanim.gif
See you at the chat meeting! happy088.gif

Hells yeah!

Posted by: swizz Dec 8 2014, 07:52 AM

Was it a good episode? I have to catch it on my "On Demand" feature once they add it.

Posted by: NewRockHounder Dec 8 2014, 11:52 AM

It was and wasn't since the show aired, a lot more claim jumpers - seems to have effed with everyone.... what you expect tho making stuff like that public knowledge.. I wanna find some topaz now tho - more so than ever.... and from what Amanda was pricing her smokeys at - makes me wonder if I could price some of mine the same from Endless - some are a pretty nice quality. Not that I have a license to sell anything - but perhaps someone like Mike S. could help me out with an appraiser/buyer.

at least!

Posted by: swizz Dec 14 2014, 06:34 PM

I can't catch the rerun on my On Demand, it's not listed. kick_can.gif
Gonna have to get lucky surfing The Weather Channel listings periodically.

Posted by: MikeS Dec 14 2014, 09:09 PM

Hope you caught the re-run before the new episode swizz. I was prospecting down that way when the tornado came through. I didn't see it. Heard about it later.

Posted by: Caveman Dec 14 2014, 09:46 PM

I have it recorded - I can get it to a hard drive if needed....

Posted by: swizz Dec 15 2014, 06:28 AM

YAY! It just popped up on my On Demand! I'll squeeze in some time to catch up today I think.

Posted by: NewRockHounder Dec 15 2014, 01:02 PM

They replay the prior episodes Sunday night starting at 5pm I think. Might be 6pm. Sometimes all night Saturday as well.

Actually, I can never count on TWC's scheduling. If there's severe weather somewhere they interrupt scheduled programming for hours, I hate that.

I don't have a DVR anymore but Xfinity stores it in their On Demand feature... it doesn't get preempted by weather there. happy088.gif no commercials either.
I watched first episode of the season last night. I know the claim jumper stuff sounds all dramatic but as a claim owner it gets me fired up watching it. I don't think their anger and disgust was exaggerated. I'd be pissed too.
Love watching the Dorris family, man they get into some good stuff! My favorite is the guy with the wolf dog who found and donated that massive crystal on behalf of his deceased brother. Very good guy and awesome to follow, great sense of humor too. Unfortunately he wasn't in this episode. Hope he's back for the season.
I have the second episode queued up. thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Saw 2nd episode last night, excellent. The Cardwell family is extremely interesting too, very good history up there regarding the road his family built and all the claims they still have. Pretty neat to see an excavator way up there.

Posted by: Marine Dec 29 2014, 09:22 AM

Be aware of those who are on the show druming up "Drama" with wild claims - "Claim Jumpers are stealing from me" - Please note/see attached publicly available documents (note the Date/time stamp is from BLM public records).

The Orange paint (from 2013) and Red Paint (over the orange - Red Paint from 2014) - was actually locator paint for the property owner to have location evidence filmed just as the Film crew filmed in 2012 where "Claim jumping" was done on the Cardwell's Claims by the same individual.

All documents attached are public documents available either at Chaffee County Court or BLM records.

All the others on the show seem to be very above board and all except the "Claim jumper" have all their mining permits, reclamation bonds, etc, etc, etc completed according to the public records available at:

http://drmsweblink.state.co.us/drmsweblink/search.aspx?dbid=0 search and review Permit Numbers: M2014*

you will see the public record for M2014032 and status: Denied.

Interesting... I'm surprised TWC is aware of this and still used these segments for the show. Good evidence for someone to use in court if this is indeed them mining on an established claim.

If I remember correctly after the first season the BLM came after all of them except the Dorris family for not following laws and regulations.

happy112.gif

Thank you for the update Marine, good to have you around the forums. We take pride here in respecting and understanding ownership and this is an example. Good to see your standing up for what is yours and hopefully this will help others understand better with your postings.

Our main goal here is to help prospectors/miners understand the importance of research “BEFORE” heading out into the field. By learning the proper way to research one can use this information to re verify land status…including those from invites. Many people might have just “trusted” that this person (named persons) would have done the research properly and have happily headed out to this location with them! One should re verify any ones information, or they too could end up in a bad situation. stop.gif

Kind of ironic that when this show (casting personnel) contacts Dan and myself , they always get the same reply but we never hear back from them till next casting interest. Our reply pretty much tells them that we could help them show it in a more realistic light but without the drama and greed part…extra emphasis on how important the research part is before heading out there. research.gif info_grin.gif That way viewers could get a more realistic feel of what it takes to do this kind of thing. Looks to me like the information they didn’t see value in, that we (Colorado Prospector) had to offer could now bite them.

I have never watched the show, only hear about it from what’s posted on the forums here. Sure is different to hear the more realistic side to this reality show though, just wish it was in a better light. Shame because it could have been with some proper research ahead of time.

Posted by: MikeS Dec 29 2014, 08:08 PM

What a bummer. Named persons could have saved everyone lots of time and money with a $4 land status map. The property mentioned by Marine is clearly marked as private property. It is not only mineral trespass but trespassing as well. That includes the film crew. ohmy.gif

Posted by: swizz Dec 30 2014, 06:14 AM

Pretty sure land status research doesn't make for a good show or sell commercials. wink.gif Frankly I wish all of these shows would at least touch on it. Not a high possibility.
It would be nice however if TWC would dedicate at least one episode to Amanda's legal foibles, or just remove them from the series. They are the antithesis of legitimate prospecting. Pretty sure that she and her hubby are the only ones tainting the show. Dirtbags, TWC should know better. On top of the obvious charges it shouldn't be difficult for the claim/property owner(s) to sue them for estimated mineral losses since it is well archived and documented in the series. Very smart of the owner to mark with the orange paint, super strong case. They bragged up and inflated the value of every gem they yanked from there, and televised it in HD. They're toast.... unless TWC is footing the bills. They very well may be, just to keep her on the show. She has a following... but certainly doesn't deserve it anymore. Booooo!
That being said, I can still enjoy the show for what it's worth. Some of the finds are spectacular and I really like a few of the characters. Plus, it's a treat to see it filmed in our state. The show would be fine without Amanda. Find someone to replace her that knows what they are doing and (especially) is actually a legal prospector.
I would also settle for... watching her and hubby getting destroyed in court for mineral trespass. order.gif Would be an awesome episode! eating-popcorn-03.gif

I'm with Swizz. Kinda. Sorta. Not really. I mean, this whole charade is giving prospectors like us a bad rap. However, Chris can have Amanda. AFAIC she's, well, uhhh, compared to mining...I'll just shut up. How does that sound? smiley-laughing021.gif

Seriously though, Dan and Denise and a few others may recall a few years back when I was mapping some of the "unauthorized two-tracks" in an agreement with the USFS as well as a few other chores in the general vicinity of Mts. Antero/White/Princeton etc. and some of the folks I met up there are not just a few fries short of a happy meal, but armed as well.

Something about wearing a USFS hat and staring down the barrel of some old coots 12 gauge because he's too stupid to understand that his so-called private road is really a USFS system road AND county road (shared jurisdiction) and he also does not own the land surrounding the road. Long story short, people get really really weird up there and it's unnerving that they have even a pencil & paper in their hands, not to mention firearms.

Along those lines, I know the Quiet Use Coalition did a lot of damage to roads that prospectors used to access their claims, nothing unfixable, however those eco-terrorists weren't exactly obeying the law. Claim holders were, QUC wasn't, USFS was looking the other way, and I know first hand you cannot expect the Chaffee county sheriff to do much if anything. QUC made several outright physical threats of harm to USFS personnel (myself and several full-timers), the USFS warned them and the CCSO was essentially choking their chickens over it. That is when I started packing heat when I was out there alone. But alas that was almost a decade ago.

Another thing that I think is in CP's archives is a dredge theft in the upper BV area, and I saw that same dredge days later on someone elses' trailer in BV. Had pics, too. I was advised, IIRC here in CP, to tell the sheriff. When I did, Tim Walker, sheriff at the time, asked me what did I expect him to do about it, and when I told him the sequence of events that led up to me calling him, he then advised me to keep my nose out of it, or else. That was, IIRC, before a serious event CP & D are aware of for me there, and I still think that has something to do with how that later incident played out.

Had TWC and Amanda used their heads none of the crap would have gone the direction it did.

One other thing- I'm saying this stuff with the full knowledge the CCSO, BLM, USFS, and QUC are reading this very stuff on this site. And I bet Amanda and TWC are as well (hint to Chris, ya naughty boi!) smiley-laughing021.gif

Back on a more serious note.....

I'm not sure the show would be off the hook either at this point. Seems like this "conflict" has been ongoing for more than two years with TV crews onsite and involved.
If you open all 5 documents Marine posted it seems to me that the claim owner has continually protested the show and digging activities on his claims, but yet they've continued. Even talked it up about "claim jumping" while it seems they may have actually been the "claim jumpers"......Doesn't that seem weird? Or even, dare I say it.....Wrong?!

Will be very interesting to see the "reality" of the situations effects on "reality tv" in this situation.

Actually the show could have avoided the entire mishap by having an outside consultant to verify and help them with the reality of claims and ownership pertaining to them....Oh wait I did offer that, but they didn't find it to be necessary for their shows. Woops!

What's really a bummer is the TV companies (production and broadcast) will more than likely leave her and her husband out to hang for this by themselves all through the fine print of the contract of course. While they'll get 2 or 3 seasons of shows and still make their money on the shows in the end.
Too bad Amanda didn't have more help verifying the claims she bought and worked were not valid to begin with!

Just proof of what I've said in the past, you can't just buy/own a claim if you don't understand the ownership of a mining claim and how it began and works from that point! If you don't understand and try to buy into one you could really set yourself up for a bad situation.

Posted by: Goldman Jan 7 2015, 03:26 PM

I find it really unnerving all this information about Amanda's mining issues. I use to have a huge crush on her for years. I been buying gems here and there from her for like 8 yrs. The weird thing I noticed from last episode is that Matt guy- her new "security" guard. I admit, I've ahhhed and oooohed at her pretty pictures for years on facebook and I rememeberd him from a lot of her pictures commenting on how hot/beautiful she is. greensmilies-025.gif I actually went to check and the comments are still there on tons of her pics. If I were Travis, I wouldnt have a security guard who likes my wife like that hanging around. As far as buying gemstones from her in the future, I'm gonna refrain from that til her mining practices are no longer questioned.

Welcome to CP Goldman! sign0016.gif
Definitely appreciate your firsthand perspective regarding Amanda's situation. I also thought it was kinda odd in the last episode that she had a guy there overnight as a "security" person. The rest of the story as you described is just truly bizarre! They also showed them right back at the spray-painted dig again. Who was the guy she was yelling at that was watching them? I can only guess that it might have been the property or claim owner. I didn't quite understand WHY she was yelling at him either. Firing off accusations of claim jumping... when it's possible she's the actual claim jumper in that scene. I'm guessing he might have been collecting evidence, not claim jumping.
In other news... Rich continues to amaze me with his Topaz finds. The other groups are showing nice Aquas too. I still like the show, too bad about the bad eggs and I hope the producers learn a lesson from this.

Posted by: Goldman Jan 7 2015, 08:36 PM

Thank ya Swizz.

Yeah, besides the bad apples I really enjoy the show. I get why they have her on for the eye candy, but there are other good looking mining gals out there who aren't doing things illegal. On the prospector page, I saw a comment from someone saying that the "claimjumper" was indeed a man who was taking down notes on her. I guess I can try to understand if you have one issue, but I have seen atleast 3 different people saying you claimjumped them? C'mon now. I mean, is she Bill Cosby? How many folks gotta say that you claimjumped them until people start to question it. I don't think any other of the prospectors have been accused. As for Rich, he never ceases to amaze me. I don't need Amanda for eye candy to enjoy that show and I don't think most do. There are definitely other attractive women on the show AND in the general field of prospecting if they are trying to maintain sex appeal, which DOES sell as we all know. You nailed it.
I would appreciate it if TWC would expose the situation but I doubt they will. At the very least, the topic of land status research/confirmation should be touched on or emphasized for educational purposes as Dan and Denise (CP owners) have personally suggested to them. For true prospectors/miners it is the core prerequisite. It wouldn't hurt the show to do this, in fact it would improve it and I bet the claim and property owners up there would very much appreciate it.

And I am one of those accusing her. My apologies to Marine as I stepped up to plate and started slinging the crap on her using information he provided. AFAIC everyone that had access to that should have stepped up instead of sitting and watching what happens. Either Amanda has proof for her side or she’s a claim jumper. No ifs ands or buts about it.

Just one allegation should be enough, IMO. Such an allegation is a very serious one.

However, there are a couple people here in CP that are fairly quiet about this, as they made indirect allegations of me being a claim jumper. I asked them the simplest questions- “Who What When Where Why”.
Who says it?
What do they have to back it up”
When did this happen?
Where did this happen at?
Why are they inclined to make such an allegation, and even more so if the allegation is untrue?

To date no replies.

If you say it make sure you have something to back yourselves up with.

Welcome Goldman! I also enjoy the show despite it's shortcomings. All of Rich's Topaz finds are quite amazing. The new stuff he is finding is starting to have the color of Imperial Topaz.

I'll bet Travis and Amanda are lawyered up as well, we just haven't been privy to their legal position. There's just no way they could know that they're clearly outside of the law and flaunt it so brazenly for the whole world to see. Just makes the whole show more interesting as far as I'm concerned... Hopefully we'll get to watch watch justice in action for whichever side is in the right.

What I want to know is what happened to that Broncato (sp?) fellow from the previous seasons, he was one gung ho son of a gun.

Oh, and Happy New Year everyone and my apologies for not being around much lately!

Edited for dumb spell check mistakes.

Posted by: Coalbunny Jan 10 2015, 05:54 AM

I know for a fact they are above the law. The court docs are proof, themselves.

Posted by: swizz Jan 10 2015, 10:49 AM

I'm not sure how you interpreted those court documents then.
In a nutshell... this is what I grasped:
The court system found Amanda financially liable and ruled in favor of the plaintiff. Since she forfeited her appearance and the court awarded ALL amounts requested to the plaintiff. That was over $100K in theft, damages, and reclamation.
It doesn't sound like she's "above the law" at all from what I gather, $100K+ is steep. Also a great example that mineral trespass can cost serious amounts of money.

I think he meant outside the law.

I missed the pdf attachments the first time I scanned through this thread and now stand corrected, she clearly knows what's up. If one of the claims in question is indeed the one with orange paint, then I'm more than just a little pissed that the show has led us to believe
something that is totally false. I'll still watch the show, however. The other folks seem to be pretty cool and Rich has got to be the biggest rock nerd on the planet! I also checked out Steve Brancato's Facebook page. That's one interesting dude.

Who knows maybe the production company ponied up the $$ to make this go away?

Posted by: Goldman Jan 10 2015, 06:38 PM

OklaPony: "Who knows maybe the production company ponied up the $$ to make this go away?"

Wells, a lil birdie told me THAT is exactly what happened, and that she is proud to show pictures of her "lease" on the prospector page occasionaly when someone says that she claimjumped. No one seems to ask her if she is leasing it, why on earth are there documents before warning her to stop tresspassing. And why are there so many different people accusing her of it? Yall don't have to be geniuses to put 2+2 together and figure out how that happened. eating-popcorn-03.gif I wish I HAD someone to give ME over $100,000+ grand for screwin up. Some recent history (2012 - 2014)

03/09/12 CMC283015 "Last Laugh" was filed by individual miner (we all know which one). Filed over MS19925 California Mine (52 acres of Patented Land - Private Property).
08/15/13 BLM declared "defective" CMC283015
09/24/13 Claim was Forfeited according to BLM LR2000. CMC283015

10/10/13 - Location Date as filed for CMC285877 "Last Laugh" (same name, new claim number and filing).
01/08/14 - New Claim CMC285877 filed, with location date of 10/10/13. Claim is on the California Lode of MS19925 California Mine (made up of the Utah Lode, California Lode and White Rock Extension).
-----
01/18/2015 - on the show, said miner indicates she is going to give the "last laugh" back to the Forest Service.......

First notice of Trespass sent to miner from property owner (his attorney) via certified mail on October 02,2013. Second Notice of trespass sent on June 11, 2014. In both cases, notices were certified mailed to both the miner and also to the entertainment company filming.

2013 season the "location paint" was orange and in 2014, the "location paint" was red - providing owner with proof positive of location being mined and actively filmed/shown on National TV. Clearly the location has been very well documented, GPS'd, professional survey completed for the private property, No Trespassing signs posted, cable gates installed, etc. Loads of documentation exists - including knowing that "Icy Blue Pocket" is 173 feet onto the California Lode of MS19925. The overly dramatic "actor" aka the "miner" mined the private property in both 2013 and 2014 seasons. After having mined on the Cardwells claims during the 2012 season.

Yes, there was a settlement between the entertainment company and the property owner - that was completed at the end of the 2014 Summer/Fall.

The man who the miner was screaming at and calling "claim jumper" was authorized to be there, Mike was taking notes and photos and observing that particular week - all such provided to the property owner of MS19925 - a retired US Navy Veteran and a great gentleman. Mike, a USMC Vietnam Veteran, was also there on the Haley Quinn#2 (CMC277124) with written permission from the CMC277124 Claim owners..

Unlike the implication on the "show" - WE DO NOT RECOMMEND making threats or shooting any one over a "rock", mineral, etc. Life is far too precious, and far too short as it is. Additionally, unlike many who have posted on the "FB" page for that "show" - WE DO NOT RECOMMEND rolling rocks down onto people or throwing rocks, etc at others. Again Life is far too precious and you just don't know what the other party may have or not.

MS19925 California Mine is a well known location and a famous mine with known beryl, aquamarine and other gemstone deposits. Google: MS19925 California Mine beryl usgs and you will find some interesting documents such as: pubs.usgs.gov/bul/0982d/report.pdf and others. USGS Maps exist from 1962/1963 including maps of the long tunnel and other geological information.

MS19925 California Mine (52 acres) is up for sale, asking price of $131,000. If interesting, I can put you in touch with the owner.

We hope everyone will honor and respect private property, just as they would want respect of their own homes from intruders. The area is being carefully monitored..... And will be under greater monitoring during early dig season to winter...

Questions - ask.

Outstanding information and fantastic pics Marine. happy088.gif
I am 100% jaded by Amanda and Travis' exploits and am truly amazed that they have been allowed to continue despite the most obvious trespass, defaults, court decision(s), and fines in excess of $100K. How is this possible????
In addition, it appears that they are doing the exact same thing AGAIN! Please tell me how this is possible. Are they millionaires that can afford to keep blatantly breaking the law on television knowing they can just buy their way out of it?
Compared to all others, their finds are less than spectacular. She looks like a bumbling idiot to me now... wandering all over everyone's claims with a camera crew, stealing mineral resources, bragging about it, and over-filing. Court strikes her down hard... and there she is AGAIN, doing the same damn thing the next season. What gives?
This begs to be clarified and exposed for the betterment of prospecting and mining. Was the default you first referred to settled out of court?
There are missing pieces to the puzzle here.

Can't say it surprises me... lots of "reality" TV shows making money off folks breaking the law... moonshiners for example. Not sure how they get away with showing illegal activity on TV without the folks breaking the law and those paying them for doing so ending up in jail.

Best place to find "reality" Crusty is right here in text. greensmilies-012.gif I don't watch those shows myself. I find much better info right here in the CP forums...... one just has to read.

Thanks for the update Marine, your information, knowledge and respect is greatly appreciated here.

I find my critical information here too.... but it's still a dang fun show to watch. The show provides entertainment, not legal information. I'm not sure that it's billed as a "reality" tv show, not much scripted 'drama'. Certainly nothing like the Hoffmans and that goofy series. They play up the danger factor and the weather with this show.... but they are the weather channel, and you need a hook going into commercial breaks. They're shooting for an 'entertainment' aspect. It's entertaining to me when they display the nice gemmy footage in HD, jaw dropping sometimes.
I'll never stop tuning in to see the spectacular finds of Rich, the Dorris family and others. Amanda and Travis should take a hike. Really a bad mark on the series and TWC is apparently trying to sweep it under the carpet. Shameful. She belongs in jail and her violations made public on the show. order.gif
(... and someone should probably ram that hand cannon up Travis' arse already)

Prospector's is one of my favorite "reality" programs and I respect what they can do,, make money loving what they do and then making more on top of that... BUT.. That one guy that has long curly locks, looks like a wanna be WWF wrestler and drives the Hummer up in the mess. They were classifying and/or running a sluice up above tree line. That's when the "guy" picked out an aquamarine and did a close up of the gem. I noticed his fingernails were not dirty and they looked like they had just been manicured.... Just sayin' and making an observation.....

With regard to the patented claims discussed in Marine's January 19, 2015 post, I would like to add a caution to not solely rely upon the record information for the location of patented mining claims. Mineral survey No. 19925 includes three lode claims. The approved plat and field notes show that each lode claim is tied to a nearby rectangular survey corner (i.e. section corner). I have some familiarity with the survey work and record information for Sur. No. 19926 as shown on the BLM's Land Status Records. The problem is that the positions of the claims WRT to the section corner is in error by approx. 300 feet. The BLM Land Status Records (Master and/or Supplemental Title Plats) do not always accurately show the position of patented mineral lands. After a claimant registers their claim with the BLM, the BLM usually conducts a cursory check to see that the claim's discovery (as best as they can determine from the claimant's location certificate) is located on ground open for mineral entry.

That does not excuse the "prospector's" trespass onto private land in any way!!

Being a recent member of the forum, I've taken the opportunity to peruse some of the topics on this forum. I am pleased that folks stress the importance of research before wandering out and digging holes. While researching the record information available at the BLM Public Room is important, having a familiarity with the area is also important. I am new here and don't wish for folks to think that a land surveyor must or should be involved in the research and location of mining claims. However, if you are hauling out tens of thousands of dollars in aquamarine on national TV all the while cursing those damned claim jumpers stealing money from your kids' mouths, you might want to spend a bit more time proving up the validity of your claim.

[edited the first paragraph for clarity]

Oops, I should have looked more closely at the map prepared by SouthWest Land Surveying that Marine posted on page 2 before posting late at night from memory (do you have an old geezer smilie?). The surveyor's map shows that the SE Cor. of Sec. 23, T51N, R6E is approx. 600 feet west and 200 feet north of where the topo map shows the corner to be. The surveyors' map shows that he found Cors. Nos. 1 and 2 of the California Lode (south side line), Cor. No. 2 of the White Rock Extension (SE Cor.) and the SE Cor. of Sec. 23. The error wasn't in the tie to the section corner but rather the erroneous depiction of the section lines on the topo quad.

When I was told about the survey, I thought the error lied with where the BLM showed MS 19925 to be, not with the erroneous position of the section lines on the topo quad. I've run into that problem several times.

I uploaded the official mineral survey plat. It shows the mining improvements on the lodes and the aliquot lines of the SW-1/4 of Sec. 23 that match those shown on the SouthWest Land Surveying map. The mining improvements shown on the topo quad match the locations on the MS plat.

** Update **

Actually the error was BLM's error in their mapping data, having never located the actual section corners of the 7.5 St Elmo Topo area - if you look at the 7.5 minute of St Elmo, you will notice there are no "RED" "+" signs in the corners of the sections. Since USFS maps use the BLM mapping data, well - their maps will also be updated to reflect, not just for MS19925 but most likely for the many other Patented Lands in that area as well.

That is until the BLM Cadastral Surveyor Mr. Wayne Hancock traveled up to the area on 07/16/2015 and properly located the Section 23 Corner as well as expected the California Lode Corners #1 and #2 - exactly where the Sourthwest Land Survey map indicated....

Attached is the GPS CORNER RECOVERY\LOCATION CARD from BLM for Section 23 as of 07/16/2015 - which BLM will now be updating all of their mapping data.

What is very important - is the Corner of Section 23 can now be utilized as reference for any and all Claims up there and the section corner is finally found/located and documented (GPS, Photo, etc) by BLM Cadastral Surveyor.

Of course what is very interesting - the location of all the documented mineral deposits, and the underground tunnel and the mine Adit - never physically moved over into the Baldwin Gulch as BLM and USFS maps have erroneously showed for years, those are all in the exact location as shown on the Southwest Land Survey just the same as on the original survey from 1918 or so.

Yep, the BLM had the wrong mapping data, and now that will get adjusted appropriately to where the actual section 23 corner is truly located as documented on 07/16/2015.

Also MS19925 has been sold and is no longer available.

Happy Days to all.

From what i heard around town at at the gem show, that claimjumper has jumped at least 3 different of her peers from the show. One of them there has been an actual lawsuit where she lost that anyone can find online. One of the new cast members [a man] this season was even claimjumped by her. He caught her red handed on his property!!! Go check her friend list and ask yourself why 90% of the peers on the show are not facebook friends with her . NOT even her new mining partner! By the way; any comments that imply that she claimjumped are being LIKED by her new mining partner this season. So if that don't spell it out for yall, then just keep on enjoying the boobie show. Cause apparently sex sells. Can't believe she is still on this show. And her new partner is a hottie and has a much more soothing voice. She should just be replaced with her dagnabbit. Rant over. Have a magnificent weekend folks. Dig on and dig with integrity! emoticon-misc-004.gif

Dude.... we've ripped her a new one to no end on this site... she gets no sympathy from the CP Club. Everyone here knows the story about Amanda, nothing new. It does piss me off that she's still on the show despite her relentless and blatant disregard for mining laws.

I like to follow the Dorris family. Rich is a machine. Dwayne is just fun to watch. The rest go just go away. I was surprised there was no Travis. There is a story there.

The show was pulled from TWC. Hopefully nobody picks it up and it can go back to the old quite days. I have a few claims in Park County and I look forward to collecting in peace and quite this summer. No drama needed.

Enjoyed the read.

Just turned on last night's show, so I haven't watched it yet, but it looks like there will be more developing between everyone's "not so favorite" cast member and her new partner. Sorry to see someone who seems so positive get sucked in to the BS.

So much for the show keepin the focus of the show on rocks! Miss drama queen is stirring it up again on her new parter [on the show}. Did yall she her latest facebook post?!!!!!

of all the irony, she is calling her a theif. The one with lawsuits is calling her partner the theif. I see her online saying her last partner/husband/mr.big hands stole her kids college funds and left her, never to be heard of again. And the partner before that from season one, I saw her on the local news defaming him because she had been having a love triangle. wTH is wrong with this woman. She belongs on lifetime channel. NOT on prospectors. Rich found amazing gemmy topaz yesterday on the show, but all people are talking about is the 4 pages she posted on her facebook how about her new partner is a thief. I saw this on facebook and seem like everyone in her past has something bad to say bout her. The only people supporting her are her fans cause they don't know her. rofl. lol https://www.facebook.com/KOAA/posts/10151866098633939?__mref=message_bubble

Wow I had no idea all this was going on! I need a TV. She really is a heart breaker huh? I thought her husband died of cancer but i guess not. Haha
I've seen some YouTube shows but nothing recent. Rich is the doctor. He's the man. The old guy with the hat. I wish he was my grandpa. I'd dig with him every day! Yolanda and her family are legit. The real deal.I always wondered why Amanda's " mining partner" just stands around all the time and never helps but I think it's cuz he can't stop staring at her long enough to get anything done. I have to admit I can see that. Crazy or not, she's pretty...but you wouldn't want to take her home to meet your momma!!

hee hee smiley-clapping.gif He did die of cancer accordin to the show but that was husband number 3 or 4. [idid my research when i fouldn out i may have bought stolen gems from her] She's up to 5 i think, and maybe working on 6 . I heard she' partnering with a jewelry maker that attend lots of gem shows "Infuzing Elements" I think. since she is no longer with the female partner this season and is blacklisting her and trashin her for claimjumping. This new partner [current and not on the show] is a guy and i'm guessing will be a boyfriend or a husband like all the other partners. These guys don't learn. hell learn about her ways soon enough like all the other. I laughed. No doubt it was staged for the drama. This is right after she fires in the air to let someone else nearby know she was there. Wonder where the bullet landed?

Posted by: Goldman Dec 15 2015, 02:36 PM

Crusty, Quite a few people I see are calling her out today and of lately. I WISH the Cardwell's would tell the public bout her but I'm guessing for them to be on the show they had to sign that they could not talk about them winning the $100,000 plus lawsuit against miss Drama Digger digging all up on their claim. Karma finds it way though, might not affect her bank account.. maybe her love account. She may snag a lot of men but once they know her, they all run for the hills. Wheres Travis at. I'm sure he knows the truth. And "Agateheaad" made a great point cause I'm one of those dumbasses that bought lots of rose quartz among other stuff from her that she got from others claims.

Things have very well, but poorly, digressed from the way it was in season 1. Seeing what these prospectors actually do. I think im going to start taking a go pro with me and crusty when we go diggin. Send it to the producers and say, WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS?

Posted by: swizz Dec 15 2015, 06:31 PM

The show doesn't need any of this drama to be good. It doesn't need T&A, at least not hers please.
To the producers of this show: Please eliminate Amanda.
Mineral thefts, mineral trespassing, and claim jumping do not bode well in the mining community.... and we all know the story. This show plays extremely well without her. To continue airing her is a disservice to the mining community... on many levels.
The gig is up. 2c.gif

Posted by: Auger Dec 17 2015, 11:40 AM

I ignore the sex part as that's just a given ingredient in today's media. I think it is nice that the show illustrates that women are prospectors too.

With that said, I don't think they should have her on the show any more because first of all claim jumping is a sacrilege. Her still being on the show and the information quietly swept under the rug when it is a large public information lawsuit only rewards thievery and sets a bad example that as long as you pay people off you can do whatever the hell you want.

I think AAA should have to leave the show and go back to doing her own thing and The Weather Channel apologize for supporting them. Think of Subway and Jared. How quick were they to divorce him? If it were completely public Google search to see that this is simply public claim jumping on national television, every scumbag sleazeball might be inclined to look up that public info and go snatch other peoples' minerals.

As I see it, literally the only things stopping anyone from claim jumping is a conscience and the absence of the claim owner. That's it.

We don't need to encourage theft in any way.

Swiss, swizz, (sorry 'bout that)

It looks like you won't be seeing Amanda in the next episode entitled, "Cripple Creek Crystals", which airs tomorrow morning at 1:00 AM. Set your VCR.

However, you won't be so lucky for the new year's episode. Looks like poor Dwayne might have some company!

S4 | Ep5
Phantom Flourite
Airdate: 1/3/16The Dorrises break new ground; Amanda and Jessica prospect Mount White; Rich heads underground in hopes of finding a unique quartz specimen; and Dwayne taps into an old, buried dig site.

meh.... I can fast-forward through Amanda's segments. Thanks for the heads-up.
I change the channel when she's on and sometimes never make it back to the show. I'll wait til it's on On Demand so I can skip her and watch the rest of the show.

Jessica (her new partner) is pretty cool... getting to know hew on FB and not sure how she got wrapped up in the show without knowing Amanda's history or reputation (she is from CA and came to CO for the show) but while she hasn't come right out and said it, it appears the relationship didn't end well and that is part of the drama that has Facebook blowing up. So while you may not like Amanda, it appears Jessica is a good gal and worth watching.

Posted by: Gene Kooper Dec 31 2015, 05:30 PM

Well, my reliance on Comcast's TV guide was a mistake. Amanda was one of the featured folks on the Cripple Creek Crystals episode after all.

As a geologist, I really enjoy seeing Colorado minerals as they are pulled from the earth. The turn-off is the immediate price tag that is hung on each crystal and the totals at the end of each episode. I heard through the rumor mill that The Weather Channel is cancelling all of their unscripted shows (i.e. reality series like Prospectors).

BTW swizz, my normal viewing habit is like yours. Watch the show On Demand and fast forward through Amanda's escapades.

Well I'll tell ya..... I'm really like Jessica Mills [A.A.A's new digging partner on this new season]. Apparently not her current digging partner as of today. Sounds like jessica may have found her out accourding to today's facebook post!! She's telling it like it is. There's definitely a lot of drama and backstabbing going on. And jessica is saying that A.A.A's new partner is now a guy who she is dating [that took long!]. So here we go again.. If there is a new season.. we may have husband #4 or #5 on the show. Anyways the point I was making is I like this Jessica girl cause she's tellin it like it is; and also cause and I like my ladies au- naturale. blush.gif Replace AAA. with her please. And Does anyone know the name of those cool specimens Rich found last episode are called? Bet they will clean up real nicely.

I abruptly fast-forwarded through Amanda's segment and definitely enjoyed the rest of that episode. It was hard to get a good look at what Rich and the mine owner were pulling out, a cleanup would help. I've never seen anything like them..... the way they were erroneously structured on the plates, and relatively tall/abstract. I couldn't tell what color they were. Hopefully we get a better look in a future episode.
The Dorris family pulled out the most amazing Fluorite specimens I have ever seen! To me, the whole season was worth watching so far just to see those puppies. worthy.gif worthy.gif

I know a guy who was selling some of the fluorite on barite they were finding last week It looked incredible. I think I might have bought a small piece, but I don't remember lol

On the last episode they were calling it a rare form of quartz and the fluorite seems to be giving it the blue/purple colors.

Thanks for the info... I had thought it was some type of fluorite. I wonder if Rich will be at Tuscon Show coming up and if he will be selling any of it. I would sure love a piece for my collection! thumbsupsmileyanim.gif Do any of yall think the network folks read this thread? Cause if so YALL need to get it together. Honestly... I wish this show would just stick with the real miners. Everyone else on the show is ligit and a pleasure to watch. I'm sorry that Jessica got mixed up with her, she seems nice... but it's her own poor judgement that got her in a situation with Amanda. Jessica - please count your losses and move on. I was happy that Amanda didn't appear in the last episode, didn't have to FF through her segment(s). I will not be watching the upcoming "blue karma" segment to be sure.
Everyone else makes this a great show to watch. happy088.gif

Well, not surprising. Poor Jessica girl, but just one of many from all the folks that ive talked to that have huge personal issues with her. People should come with a warning label dont cha think. If people knew she had a handful of different baby daddies and had at least 3-4 ex-husbands and the young age of {what is she, like early-mid 40s?] that would be a red flag to me. I was stupid too for purchasing gems from her in the past. Whatever you do, don't ask to return them and for a refund.. cause you WILl get blocked! rofl oh well, lessons learned for some folks. Lessons continued to be learned for some others. I'm just glad the show is showing a lot less of her this season. Besides the butt crack and cleavage shots, the rest of the show is focused on some real nice gems from the other prospectors. I hope that Dorris's get mroe air time too. Those last finds were sick!

Oh, I ain't arguing with that she is easy on the eyes. thumbsupsmileyanim.gif The guy that got the tattoo [Travis] she later married even though she was engaged to a police officer a the same time. There's a bunch of news articles on it online and it was on colorado news. Big love triangle scandal locally. He [the guy that got tattoo ] is now her x-husband [ he left her] and she moved in supposably to the next guy shes with now soon after that. You're a little behind on seasons. A LOT has happened since the guy got a tattoo. But I agree she's easy on the eyes... because thats the only reason I can think of that they would keep her on the show after all the legal judgements and scandals surrounding her. I prefer her new partner this season or Mrs. Cardwell ain't too bad either. You gotta have inner beauty too .. at least for me. Don't forget.....New episode tonight!

Sure was a great episode, Swizz. thumbsupsmileyanim.gif Great because the Cardwell's finally ended up hitting paydirt after not doing so well last season. You can tell Mrs. Cardwell was real happy when she got choked up. And as for Rich......this man never dissapoints. I like to see good people having good things come there way. I wholly agree! I didn't want to jinx it by bringing it up though. The last few episodes have been so good without her. I also liked the portion of that episode where they showed Dwayne and his crew performing reclamation when they were finished with the pocket. Very admirable and something that these programs don't show enough of. Reclamation is a huge part of mining and deserves it's air time for the miners who commit to it.
This show is getting better, they're definitely on the right track.

Glad to see they discussed claim filing on the show. Disappointed they used the Dorris large operation as the example, giving people the impression that the average claim owner needs to do a bond for thousands of dollars. AND that they gave an Amanda sound bite in the segment... hello pot; I'm kettle!

The Good:
Amazing Fluorite finds by the Dorris'
Rich's endeavors and his AMAZING Topaz Eagle sculpture

The Bad:
Discussion with Crystal Dorris regarding claim staking. She left viewers with the impression that it will cost the average claimant $6K to stake. The average claimant actually pays $212 for staking. The big difference is that the Dorris family is operating on a large scale (excavators, blasting, etc.). Those activities require the Dorris' to fork out far more $$ than the average Joe staking a Location Claim. The producers/editors failed to clarify or include this fact, that part was probably left on the cutting room floor. Is it the show's prerogative to discourage people from staking claims?

The Ugly:
Amanda Atkins. Neither she (nor Jessica) are ugly by any means. The fact that the producers of this program still include Amanda in episodes is beyond me. She is a known claim jumper and mineral trespasser, it is public record, she has been caught and charged. She is a shame to the mining community in Colorado. At least they show her on someone's legitimate claim now (with permission) but she has lost ALL credibility.... not a true explorer. In this episode she was "prospecting" another claim owner's discovery (with permission and contract of course). This show could do much better. There are many attractive female prospectors who respect the Federal mining laws and perform their due diligence if the show needs that element. Producers: WAKE UP, snap out of it... she has you in a trance.

Here's what I posted

Very happy to see the show discuss claim filing last night! Disappointed you used the Dorris' large scale operation as the example. This left viewers with the impression that it will cost the average claimant $6K to stake. The average claimant actually pays $212 for staking. The big difference is that the Dorris family is operating on a large scale (excavators, blasting, etc.). Those activities require the Dorris' to fork out far more $$ than the average Joe staking a Location Claim. Would have been beneficial to the average person to follow up with a segment with a claim like Rich's, which shouldn't require a reclamation bond. Speaking of Rich, that eagle carving was AMAZING!! Thanks for bringing this show to TV. Hope to see another season next year!

Just when you think Amanda couldn't get any lower... Posted by Jessica on Facebook

Looks like My digging partner from the TV show (you know who) is trying to get me kicked out of the 22nd street show. As I am standing with security guards. Telling me I am "trespassing"

I talked with management and they said that they were told I had publicly posted that I planned on stealing from the show. They were professional and after hearing my side allowed me back in with restrictions to avoid said accuser. It's insane that this woman and her friends go to great lengths to slander my name, harass me and ultimately cause me financial harm.

Thank you Weather Channel producers for enabling this sub human mongrel to prey upon others for her own wants. Shame.

I just checked facebook and Jessica says A.A.A tried to get her kicked out of Tucson Gem show. Told the vendors it was because Jessica was all over social media saying that she planned on robbing the show. Riiiiiduculous. Anyone stupid enough to believe this? I mean, If you're gonna rob someone ... if you are smarter than a 2nd grader you wouldn't go on social media saying that you're gonna do it! A.A.A is afraid that Jessica is gonna come for the stones that she owes her and refuses to give her. Guess you can't call this case claimjumping. Shes just a plan theif for this situation. That girl hasnt' gotten one stone that her and A.A.A dug together accordin to Jessica. I guess A.A.A needs the money for all the hospital bills from her licking uranium off rocks last summer. eating-popcorn-03.gif

They are finding nice fluorite and smokey quartz/amazonite combos on Krystle's new claim. What a score for the first dig! I like a good carved stone and Rich's topaz eagle head is awesome!

The Bad: Several mistakes in the claim process were shown in that segment. Some of them seem to be common mistakes from my research.

The Ugly: I don't think the producers are in a trance. They are more interested in preserving ratings as opposed to preserving integrity. The saga continues....

Ermagerd! Welcome back Jess (Fenix'sMom)! I'm glad you're back :) smiley-clapping.gif

DirtyGirl (also Jessie) - welcome to CP! We'll try to keep the drama set to a reasonable level smileywaving.gif

Oh no more drama needed in my life. Im back home with my prospecting family! Eric!!!! MIKEY!!!! **Tackle group hugs**
I was so sad when I had to erase my club core and members tag, but as soon as I get this pesky surgery taken care of, I'll definitely be back in the members section again.

God it's great to be home again! thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Jess/Fenix - Are you getting back into the dirt too? Would be awesome to see you creekside again!

Posted by: fenixsmom Jun 1 2016, 03:41 PM

I punched a hole in my waiders at the last members meet. I need to get some good hips and gloves. I do plan on it as soon as possible though! I'm curious about the future of CC with that path being built.

Posted by: EMac Jun 1 2016, 04:00 PM

I'm going after work to pick up some sealant for what has to be a decent hole in mine somewhere near my hips. That was a chilly surprise on Monday to have water pouring down my leg!

I haven't been using them, so you're welcome to try out the long gloves I have before buying. I have the yellow Atlas chemical ones in medium and XL (picked up from Amazon). As long as you're not putting them deeper than just past your elbow (where the vent hole is), they'll keep you dry. I've seen Mike and Josh with blue gloves, but not sure where they got them. I'm flirting with needing a mask/snorkel the last few outings, so the gloves haven't been much use. Almost time for a wetsuit and hood!

Are you still using the cube or did you get yourself a high banker or dredge?

He got an Angus 3" dredge

The appears to be open; not sure it'll have any affect on CC. Thinking I need to get a bike and wagon or 3 wheeler and use it to haul my stuff down to one of the spots along the trail you can't access from the road!

Harbor Freight stores usually has those blue gloves that go to the shoulder for a low price.

There are more pics and some review things in the protected forum. I thought I put pics elsewhere, but could only find one of it busted here: http://www.coloradoprospector.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4961&st=240&start=240. The metal barrel broke a weld, but I got that sorted out quickly at a muffler shop. If it happens again, I'm modifying the connection. It's the Klondike DC from Angus, and I had them modify it to have a 2" pressure line for a 3" dredge. I'm pretty pleased with it so far. thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Wow congratulations! Im glad you where able to get one! I remember that was a big wish list item.
I'll definitely pop over to harbor and pick up some armpit gloves. That water gets mighty cold when it makes it through to the sleeves. O.O

I hope to make it to Swizz and MikeS.'s very generous invites this year. I can't wait to tackle hug you all. (aww)
Booplesnoot works as an alternative to Jessie, now that I'm not the only Jessie anymore! It's a long, kind of embarrassing story how I picked up that name. But I kinda love it. >.<

Look forward to hearing the story around the camp fire this summer happy070.gif

Thank you! I'm super stoked that I now suck. Wait... huh.gif

Nicknames with 3 syllables are suspect; I'm with Crusty on wanting to hear the back story.

Posted by: fenixsmom Jun 2 2016, 10:17 AM

Well, it's not the meaning behind the name, which really is nothing. But where I picked it up from. Let's just call it, "The dark, dirty minded side of Twitter." CP is after all a wholesome, family orientated website.
I would hate to taint it's pristine nature! 😂

Being new to the show and to the site, what a curveball!

You've got this qwerky, likeable, super-nerdy Rock Hound finding awesome stones that's a pederass, puke.gif and the cute chick screaming Claim Jumper at everyone when she, in fact, is the actual Claim Jumper!!! smiley-laughing021.gif smiley-laughing021.gif smiley-laughing021.gif smiley-laughing021.gif

Whats next?!

I just started watching the series when I can't wait to see how this turns out LOL

Facebook is blowing up

I laughed. No doubt it was staged for the drama. This is right after she fires in the air to let someone else nearby know she was there. Wonder where the bullet landed?

Im not this far into the series yet (when this FB stuff hit realtime) but I did see the episode where she discharged into the air. I was thinking the same thing greensmilies-025.gif

Some people!
