Hi all,

Thought this would make a cool thread for everyone.
At the following link you can find any states gem, mineral, stone, and rocks.......if they have adopted one.
From Wikipedia - State minerals, gems, rocks, and stones

Colorado is the only state who's geologic symbols are .............
red - rhodochrosite, white - yule marble, & blue - aquamarine! cool.gif

And California was the first state to designate a state rock. smile.gif

Enjoy, learning is such fun!! biggrin.gif

Fantastic info Dan!

This topic brings great interest to all age groups.
I was amazed to learn of other states choices.

Super post Super Dan!

Very interesting to me that so many states are too lazy to even CHOOSE them.

Thanks for all you do.

smile.gif You're very welcome. Thank you both too.
Hopefully many more will find this to be as fun a page as we all have.

Not sure if the blank spaces on wiki are in fact never chosen ones, or maybe just not entered into wiki's database yet?

Learning sure is fun somedays!
