My buddy and I are new the club and prospecting as well. I am hoping someone out there can guide me to a legal place in northern colorado. I live in Loveland Fort Collins area and was hoping there might be spot within an hours drive or so without driving too far south.
I wanted to try the Left Hand Canyon area but it seems very tricky to know if you're on County land or a claim. I have heard a lot about Manhattan creek and Panhandle creek in the Red Feather lakes area. Maybe you know of a spot I haven't mentioned please share some information. If anybody even wanted to tag along that works too.

Any advice, directions or even an invite to a private claim would be great.

Get intimate with the LR2000 on the BLM website along with your county clerk and recorder and county assessor. Then visit the how to avoid claim jumping thread. Or visit the thread first then LR2000, County Clerk & Recorder & County Assesor.

Welcome!

Not my neck of the woods, but you're off to a good start reviewing the How to Avoid Claim Jumping thread. Lots of info in the threads and folks here to help you if you get stumped.

Hope you find something close to you that will work!

Hi Josh, welcome to the club for you both once again. I know a sent an email saying the same thing but thought I'd post it here as well in case you had a notification to the thread.
There is a good sized group of club members gathering this Saturday on Clear creek that you two would probably enjoy attending if possible. Check out the thread in the club members protected forum section. I'm sure they'd all like to have you two attend the outing.

I too live in the Fort Collins area looking for friends to prospect with. If you head out sometime and its on a weekend I'm available I'd like to tag along too. I do have a BLM mineral management map also for Fort Collins which includes Red Feather and Livermore.

I have a Back Pack Sluice Miller table and am building a Dredge out of a bilge pump to run on a small battery so you can pack it in to areas and It makes no sound. emoticon-object-018.gif
