This Gold was from two differant trips and what a load of fun it was :P :D
We used a new feeder table that I built for the clean up and it worked GREAT! All of the bigger Gold just sat up on the table so it was very cool to see it all and just pick it up off the table ;) Anyway I hope you all enjoy it ;) -------------------- friends don't let friends carry the cons across the river

Nice looking dust around the edges, I've never seen such fine gold before in such a large amount.
looking at that fine dust around the edges would make me want to place a thin strip of copper at the head of the box and smear it with merc, not enough merc to wash into the river but just a thin smear to glue and trap what passes..... just my .02 and not recommended that anyone follow that thought. I have three 15 gallon drums of cons with this stuff in it :D I have to screen it down to 80 mesh to get it and it is to time consuming for now I want to buy a shaker table but have no place to bolt it down so I will have to wait :(

Fine fines.
Welcome to Colorado, Redpaw. That's what we got, sometimes in abundance. That's why if I want to see nuggets, I usually have to drive about 18 hours to the west. Anyone who can setup their dredge for gold recovery in Colorado is probably an expert at it. Ed |

Mike, I'm in Idaho Springs right now for a few more days on vacation, and I heard you might want a prospecting pal. If so, I'm game for a few more days if you'd like. Ask Dan and Denise where I'm at and they can direct ya.
Been on the South Fork Clear Creek and found some color. Hope I still got it, want to put it under my m'scope when I get home! Found a little on Barbour Fork Creek, except it's super fine there and sparce, at that. May try hitting a few more creek later on the week. If they were they'd have eaten the snake instead of the apple and we'd still be in heaven.... |
